IMPROVEMENT IN POWER APPARATUS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 131M381, dated October 8, 1872.
To all whom it may concern:
Be itknown that I, GEORGE W. Vo'sBURGH, of Sun Prairie, in the county of Dane and State of Wisconsin, have invented a new and useful Power for Raising Weights and for Pressure, of which the following is a specification:
In the perspective view, A is the frame having the two standards B B, with the bolts 0 O at their upper ends, which bolts receive the arms D D at their slots E E, upon which bolts said slots work inoperating the machine. Through the inner ends of said armsD D runs the bolt F, conneotingthe arms with the weight or pressure, and also with the connecting-rod G, which rod is connected with the short arm' of the lever H by the bolt or rivet I. The lever H is also attached to the bent lever K by a bolt, L, and such bent lever is connected at its inner end to the straight lever M by the bolt or rivet N, each of which last-mentioned levers, H and M, is connected, respectively,
by the bolts 0 P to the aforementioned arms 1) D at their outward ends.
To work my machine the lever or handle H is depressed; this moves the bent lever K downward, and the arms D D at their inner ends upward, making a movable fulcrum at the bolt L, which fulcrum moving downward as
