NECKTIE-HOLDEE To all rwhom it may concern.'

Be it known that WILLIAM DUGAN, a' citizen of the United States of America, residing at Middletown, in the county of Butler and State of Ohio, has invented new and useful Improvements in Necktie-Hold ers, of which the following is a specification.

The object of the invention is to provide a new and novel form of device for mounting on a wall or door, the device being adapted for holding neckties in quantities and in such a position that they may bel kep as freely as possible from wrinkles.

Further object of the invention seeks a device of this character which is simple in construction, durable and effective in operation and inexpensive to manufacture.

Other and further objects appear in the following description, wherein the invention is set forth in detail.

Referring to the drawings, the invention is shown as comprising a supporting frame and a tie holding frame, both of which are formed from single strands of wire. The supporting frame consists of a strand of wire bent to form an eye 1, with two diverging legs 2 depending from the eye 1. At specified points the two legs are bent to form elevation of the two parallel sections 3 and the wire is further bent to form eyes 4, the latter standing in planes at right angles to the angle 4at eye 1. In order'to keep the eyes 4 from spreading the wire is bound with the bands 5. Leaving the eye 4 the wire of the supporting frame is directed downwardly and the two ends are then turned in at right angles toward each other, terminating in two upstandin portions 6, which are bound toget her wit a band 7 embracing the two.

and passed through the eyes 4, then bent downwardly at rlght angles and then inwardly toward thesupporting frame at .right angles and bent to form hoop portions 9 whichpartly embrace those portions of the supporting frame depending from the eyes 4. 'The hoop portions 9 do not completely surround the portions of the frame which they engage, embracin the latter for substantially 180 degrees, ut the peculiar construction shown provides forsupporting the b1l1s 8 in a horizontal lane when the sup portlng frame stands 1n a vertical plane, which it perforce will do asthe device is hung on a wall or a door. Obviously ties to be held by the device may be inserted in between adjacent bills and allowed to hang 1n depending positionspositions best suited to, keep wrinkles out of the ties and to keep the ends from turning up.

When the device is not in use as a support for the ties, it may be folded up by raising the bills 8 until they stand substan- Obviously when the tie holding frame 1s drawn away from those parts of the supporting frame which they engage these hoop portions, serving only to limit the downward movement of the tie holding frame to a position where the bills 8 will lie in'horizontal positions, or positions at right angles to the supporting frame. The two frames are thus hingedly attached together so that the one may be thrown down to a position to which it is' adapted to perform its function or raise to assume a folding position so that the device as a whole may be readily packed.
