IMPROVEMENT IN MEDiCAL COMPOUNDS FOR THE CURE OF ASTHMA.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 131,167, dated September 10, 1872, antedated September 5,
Specification describing a new and Improved Medical Compound, invented by CHARLES B. HURST, of Rochester, in the county of Beaver and State of Pennsylvania.
My invention consists of one part digitalis, one part stramonium, and one part niter, mixed together in a powder, which compound I administer, for the treatment of asthma, by burnin g and causin gthe smoke tobe inhaledthro'ugh the mouth of the patient.
This compound, unlike others for the same purpose, preserves its properties fully for a long time, and may therefore be put up any reasonable length of time necessary for commercial purposes in advance of its use. It gives instant and immediate relief, and effects radical cures in the worst cases, all of which I have demonstrated practically.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- A compound formed of digitalis, stramonium, and niter, mixed in equal proportions, as and for the purpose set forth.
