TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that I, JOHN RAMsBURGn, Sr., of New Madrid, in the county of New Madrid, in the State of Missouri, have invented and discovered a new remedy for the cure of consumption and all lung diseases, and that the following .is a full and exact description thereof.
The discovery or remedy consists 'of the following compound: Spikenard, elecampane, and comfrey, in equal parts; Indian turnip, half part. Mix with honey and whiskey, thus making a strong compound or bitter. This compound, in these proportions, has proved an excellent cure for many persons afilicted with diseases of the lungs. In everal cases,'when the patient has exhausted travel and various remedies prescribed by eminent physicians, this remedy has been used with entire success. I have not yet known it to fail.
What I claim, therefore, as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is v The improved medicine, prepared of the materials and substances as set forth.
