To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, HENRY IsBnRo, (who has declared his intention to become a citizen of the United States of America and is a citizen of Sweden,) residing at Portland, in the county of Multnomah and State of Oregon, have invented new and useful Improvements in Game Apparatus, of which the following is a specification.

This invention is an improved game apparatus embodying a target having movable .1 numbered figures and also embodylng a cross bow and darts to be used for shooting at the figures in the target.

With the above and other objects in view, the invention consists in the construction, combination and arrangement of devices hereinafter described and claimed.

In the accompanying drawings Fig. 1 is a perspective View of the target.

Fig. 4c is a perspective view of the cross bow.

Fig. 5 is a similar view of one of the darts.

My improved target is an oblong rectangular board 1 which may be made of wood or other material and which is provided with a cover 2 on its face and is provided with a series of openings 3 which are diiferently numbered, to indicate points in the game, and are here shown as numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 respectively. Any suitable number of the openings may be provided.

The cover or face of the target is also provided with figures 4 which are here shown as figures of animals and the head of each animal figure forms a movable target member 5 the said target members bein here shown as circular and adapted to fit 1n and close the openings. Each target member is hinged at the lower side and on the rear side of the target board as at 6 andis adapted to fall downwardly and rearwardly and out of its opening when the said target member is struck by one of the darts.

hinged thereto at the center as at- 8 and whlch is adapted to fold against the targetboard. The leg is provided in its hinged edge with a recess 9 and with a stop shoulder 10. A locking member 11 is hinged to the rear side of the target board as at 12 for angular movement in a vertical plane and has a slot 13 in its free side. When the supporting leg of the target is arranged at right angles thereto and in position to support the target in an inclined position the locking member can then be turned to a horizontal position into the recess in the leg and so that the slot of the locking member receives the leg thus holding the leg securely. The locking member by bearing on the stop with which the leg is provided is held in horizontal locking position.

The cross bow which is shown at 15 in Fig. 4: is adapted for shooting the darts 16 ,one of which is shown in Fig. 5. Each dart has a spherical or substantially spherical head 17, a shank 16 and a widened guiding web 19 at the rear end of the shank and in practice each dart is made from a single piece of suitable wood or other material. The webs of the darts serve to direct them straight in their flight when shot from the cross bow and the blunt heads of the darts prevent them from doing any damage should they miss the target.

In playing the game in accordance with my invention each player uses a number of darts corresponding with the number of the movable target members. All the target members are at first in closed position in the openings and it is the object of each player to strike as many of the target members with the darts as he shoots them as his skill admits. When a target member is struck by one of the darts it falls to open position and the number of said target menr ber counts for a corresponding number of points in the game. The player who gets the highest number of points wins the game.
