Description

A. G. TILLMAN.
TOOTH BRUSH HOLDER AND STERILIZER.

TOOTH-BRUSH HOLDER AND STERILIZER.
Application led May 8, 1916.
To all whom t may concern:
Be it known that I, ALBERT G. TILLMAN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Vicksburg, in the county of Warren and State of Mississippi, have invented certam new and useful Improvements in Tooth- Brush Holders and Sterilizers, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to a tooth-brush holder and sterilizer, for holding a toothbrush and disinfecting the'same when not in use; and also to a support for the receptacle, whereby the brush may be kept in an aseptic condition.
Other objects of the device are to construct a neat, durable, efficient, article, that will have but few parts and may be easily and cheaply manufactured.
In the drawings forming a part of this Fig. 6 is a view of the holder for thev absorbent material. p In the drawings, 1 designates the casing, made of .glass or other suitable material,
for the same; 3a ground bevel on the cap, corresponding to a ground bevel 4 on the container. 5 is a rldge on `the inside of the cap; 6 is a germicide holder adapted to receive absorbent material, such as cotton or wool, which is saturated with a liquid germicide. This germicide may be formaldehyde, or the like, capable of giving olf a vapor or gas. The holder is preferably formed as a ring with an annular flange 7 Vat its bottom to hold the material.
8 is a regulating disk, provided with a central vent 9, and regulating vents 10. 11 is a removable partition, having outlets 12 adapted to register with vents 10 in the regulating disk. when the latter is turned through the medium-'of a handle 13. Handle Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented June 17, 1919.
Serial No. 96,080.
13 has shanks forming shoulders 14 and 15, the latter resting against the face of partition 11, and 14 resting against the face of regulating disk 8. This prevents binding of the disk and partition when operated.
16 is a 'bracket having rings 17 and 18 adapted to receive the container l and the vial 19 which contains the sterilizing agent.; and 20 the screw for connecting the bracket to its Support. 21 is a ring or flange on the container 1 to hold it to its support; and 22 a Bange on the vial 19 tohold it in its support.
Partition 11 is made in the shape of a funnel at its center, which forms a pivot for the regulating disk vent 9 which is made large to receive the point of the funnel. The disk and partition are open at the center, and the disk is also funnel-shaped to correspond and receive the center of partition. Openings 23 are formed by leaves 24, said leaves being curved outwardly and then inwardly to increase the diameter of the partition and prevent it being forced yinto the'chalnber in the cap. 25 are three leaves made longer than the others for the purpose of holding the partition in its proper place by springing said leaves over the ridge or shoulder 5 in the cap.
My sterilizer may be made of glass, celluloid, metal, or wood. The lat surface on the top enables the same to be placed in its inverted position when taken ofi' the holder. f Having now fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by `Letters-Iatent, is to receive the tooth-brush; 2 a cap or closure A toothbrush holder, comprising a receptacleJ for the brush,l a ridge formed on the receptacle, a perforated partition formed with leaves extending from its sides, said leaves adapted to be sprung over the ridge of the receptacle to support the partition, a
ydisk operating in conjunction with the partition to regulate the perforations, and a ring formed with an annular flange to support absorbent material and to rest upon the .partition.
In testimon whereof I aiix my signature 1n presence o two witnesses.
ALBERT G. TILLMAN.
Witnesses:
G. W. FORD,
ABE KRERAKY.
