Be it known that I, STEWART R. MoKAY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Cleveland, in the county of Cuyahoga and State of Ohio,- have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Concrete-Forms, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
j This-invention relates to forms .which are employed for the purpose of molding concrete material, the invention shown herein being illustrated in connection with the construction of a wall, such as may be employed in the erection of buildings. The invention relates more particularly to the construction and arrangement of the posts, panels and fastening means whereby the panels may be conveniently applied to and removed from the posts and may be efliciently retained in operative relation to the Work durlng the The invention herein disclosed is a division of my application No. 33798 filed June 12, 1915. r
In the drawings forming part hereof, Figure 1 represents a sectional detail in perspective of a post, a pair of panels and the clamping means employed for securing the latter to the posts; Fig. 2 is a plan view, with certain parts in section, of the assembly shown in Fig. 1; Fig. 3 an elevation of the assembly shown in Figs. 1 and 2; and Fig. 4 a plan view of a portion of a mold embodying my invention.
In the drawings forming part hereof, 6 denote vertical posts which are preferably of hollow pressed metal. Each post consists generally of a channel having tapered sides each provided with a flange 6 to which a cover plate 6 is applied in any convenient manner, the flanges 6 and the lateral edges of the plate 6* forming laterally'extending lips. Projecting from each side of each post 6, and preferably pressed therefrom, is a projection 7 having a downwardly-and outwardly beveled surface 7*. Cooperating with each of these beveled surfaces is the beveled surface 8 of a clamping block 8, said block forming a wedge between the side of the post and the adjacent end of a channel, as will be explained hereinafter. Each block is slidably mounted upon a projection 7, as by means of a slot 9 in said block and a bolt 10 extending throu h said slot and having a head 19* adapter to bear against the inner surface of the projection 7 and a nut 10 adapted to overhang the sides of the slot 9.
Cooperating with each side of the post 6 is, a panel This panel preferably coinprises a wooden body or filler 3 having at each end thereof atongue 3 The sides and lateral ends of the filler are shown as covered by metal sheathing 3 which extends around the lateral ends of the filler and which conforms to the tongues 33*, as shown at 3. The
parts are so proportioned that, when the in- .ner or work-facing sides of the tongues 3 engage the lips at the inner or work-facing sides of the posts, the inner or work-facing sides of, the panels and of the posts will provide a plane surface. Furthermore, the parts vided between the tongue and the outer or rear surface of the panel whereby the panels will be held between the wedge blocks and the lips and will be wedged between the posts.
'It will be evident that the panels may be applied to the. posts with the tongues interposed between the wedges and the lips, by sliding the panels longitudinally of the posts. When itis desired to remove the panels, the wedge blocks may be. driven upwardly. By suitably proportioning the tongues 3 and the thickness and inclination of the wedge blocks and the beveled projections, the blocks may be moved upwardly a sufficient distance to clear the said tongues and thus facilitate the assembling and disassembling of the panels and posts.
Through the construction described, each post has a lateral side presented toward the other and each side is provided with a stop between'the projection 7 and the work-fac The posts may be secured in properly spaced relation by ranger rods applied in any desired manner, as, for instance, shown in my application No. 872,648 filed Nov. 17, 1914.
Having thus described my invention,
supported by :each post and movable'along the beveled surface thereof and adapted 7 through ,such movement to secure the :panel in place between said posts.

In a form .of thecharacter described, thecombination, with a pair of spaced posts, each .post having a beveled projection :presented toward the other, of a panel :interposable between said posts, and a wedge block .movably connected to each projection and-adapted to be brought into and out of engagement with the adjacent lateral end of said panel.

In a form of the character described, thezcombination, with'apair of spaced posts, each post having a beveled projection presented toward the other, of a wedge "block having a slot therethrough, a bolt carried by each :projectionand extending through the slot of a wedge block, and a panel inter- ;posable "betweenlsaid postsand adapted to be engaged by said wedge blocks.

In a form of the character described, the combination, with a pair :of posts, each post having presented toward the other a side havin a beveled :projeotionand a'latcrally extent ing seat between such projection and the inner .or -work-ifacing side of such post, of a wedge block anovably connected to each of said projections,;and apanel adapted to be interposed between said posts and having at each lateral end thereof. a tongue adapted to engage with one side the seat of a post-and with its other side the side-of said wedge block, the said panel having a irearwardly extending projection at each :lateral .end thereof adapted to be engaged by said wedge block as the latter is :moved along its projection on :the :post.
