IMPROVEMENT IN PAVING-BRICKS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 130,589, dated August 20, 1872.
SPECIFICATION.
Specification describing certain Improvements in Bricks for Paving, invented by JOHN of Indianapolis, in the county of Marion and State of Indiana.
My invention relates to bricks for paving.
sidewalks and other similar purposes, and it consists in the arrangement of grooves or corrugations, formed in the upper surface of the bricks in such a manner as to render them susceptible of being laid in either diagonal or herring-bone or English-bond plan, and at the same time preserve the continuity of the grooves or channels across the pavement, whereby the water may be cond ucted freely off, and slippery or sloppy pavements may be avoided.

and as laid in the herring-bone or diagonal manner. I
