ALBERT MENEICE, or ALoovA, WYOMING.
REFRIGERATOR-BOX.
Application filed July 9, 1918.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ALBERT MENEIOE, a cit zen of the United States, residing at Alc o'va, in the county of Natrona, St a'te'of YVyoming, have invented a new and useful Refrigerator-Box; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to an; improved refrigerator food box adapted for use in connection with automobiles and the like, for hunters, tourists, or other outing parties.
The aim of this invention is to provide an improved refrigerator or ice box for the reception of game or foods, to prevent spoiling of the contents.
The invention further aims to provide a main casing for the game or foods, and an inner central casing for the ice for preserving or preventing the foodstuff or game from spoiling, there being drain openings for each of the casings.
A further aim of the invention is the provision of a cover for the main casing carrying an auxiliary cover for the inner casing or can for the ice, there being a packing between the auxiliary cover and the upper edge of the inner casing.
In practical fields the details of construction may necessitate alterations falling within the scope of what is claimed.
The invention comprises further features and combination of parts as hereinafter set forth shown in the drawings and claimed.
In the drawings Figure 1 is a View in perspective of the improved refrigerator box constructed in accordance with the invention.
Fig. 2 is a plan view of the same.
Fig. 3 is a sectional View on line 33 of Fig. 2.
Referring more especially to the drawings 1 designates the outer main casing of the box which may be constructed of any suitable sheet metal, and the bottom 2 of which has a central opening 3, which may be any suitable shape preferably rectangular. Rising upwardly from the marginal edge of the opening 3 is a flange 4: having an offset extension flange 5. Where said ofl'set extension flange 5 adjoins the flange 4:, a shoulder 6 is provided. Extending from the shoulder 6 is a conical flange 7, the marginal edge of which constitutes the Specification of Letters Patent.

periphery of an opening. An inner casing S which'may be any suitable shape, preferably rectangular, and constructed of any suitable sheet metal preferably galvanized metal, is provided.
This inner casing or can has a conical bottom 9, which, where it joins the vertical sides of the inner casing engages and rests upon the conical flange 7 and the shoulders 6, thereby holding the inner casing centrally with respect to the outer casing, which may be any suitable shape preferably rectangular. The inner casing 8 is designed for reception of ice (not shown), while the interior of the outer casing may receive food stuff or game to be kept from spoiling. The flange 4 of the opening 3 has a drain orifice or aperture 10, for draining the waste from the outer casing, or for draining the drippings from the game. The apex of the conical bottom 9 of the inner casing can has a drain orifice or opening 11, for draining the drippings from the ice. Hinged at 12 to the outer casing is a cover 13, which is provided with an inwardly downwardly extending flange 14, extending within the casing 1. A suitable clasp or hasp 15 is hinged at 16 to the cover 13, to engage the staple 17, to which any suitable pad-lock (not shown) may be connected for holding the hasp in engagement with the staple. The cover 13 has a central opening 18 corresponding in shape to and receiving the upper part of the inner casing 8. An auxiliary cover 19 is hinged at 20 to the cover 13, for not only closing the opening 18, but also the upper'open end of the inner casing 8. The cover 19 on its under face has a rectangular recess 21 corresponding to the shape of the inner casing for the reception of a suitable packing 22, to be engaged by the upper marginal edge of said inner casing, so as to make an airtight joint. The auxiliary cover 19 has a hasp 23 hingedly connected thereto, and is adapted to engage the upstanding staple 24 on the cover 13, which staple 24 is designed to be en aged by a suitable pad-lock (not shown? for holding the cover 19 closed.
The invention having been set forth what is claimed as new and useful is The combination with an inner and outer casing, one centrally within the other, of covers for said casings respectively, the bottom of the outer casing having an opening, an upstanding flange around the margin of said opening, said flange being provided with a shoulder and an inwardly and down-' wardly extending flange, the bottom ofthe inner casing being conical and of the same taper as the inwardly and downwardly extending flange so that when the lower end of the bottom of the inner casing is placed in the opening formed by the inwardly and downwardly extending flange theinner casing will be guided into its seat by gravity and the inner casing properly Copies of this patent may be obtained for In testimony whereof I have signed my 15 V name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing wltnesses.
