IMPROVEMENT IN MEDICAL COMPOUNDS FOR CHOLERA-INFANTUM, &c.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 129,343, dated July 16, 1872.

To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ALBERT HAWS, of Battle Mountain Station, Lander county, State of Nevada, have invented or discovered an Im= proved Medical Compound for the Treatment of Diseases of the Bowels and Stomach; and I do hereby declare that the following specification contains a correct statement of the names of the ingredients and the quantity of each to be used, together with directions for preparing and using the same.
My invention or discovery relates to a medical compound for the cure of-cholera infan tum, summer complaint, chronic diarrhea, all inflammation of the bowels and stomach.
To make my medical compound I make a simple mixture of the following ingredients, viz.: Olive-oil, three (3) ounces mutton-tab low, one (1) ounce; saltpeter, one (1) dram; pulverized cinnamon bark, two (2) drams. This mixture I then thicken with pulverized charcoal until it assumes the consistency of a paste.
The directions for using the medicine are as follows: The does can be varied from a teaspoonful to a table-spoonful, and it should be given from six to eight times a day, until it passes the bowels; then the dose should be reduced to one-half the original dose, and it should be given from three to five times a day until a cure is efi'ected.

Having thus described my invention or discovery, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
A medical compound for the cure of diseases of the stomach and bowels, consisting of the ingredients enumerated, mixed in the proportions above described.
