Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 129,342, dated July 16, 1872.
- SPECIFICATION. To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ALBERT HAWS, of Battle Mountain Station, Lander county, State of Nevada, have invented or discovered an Improved Medical Compound for the Treatment and Cure of Small-Pox and I do hereby declare that the following specification contains a correct statement of the names of the ingredients and the quantity of each to be used, together with directions for preparing and using the same.
My invention or discovery relates to a medical compound or powder for the treatment and cure of small-pox.
To make my compound, (which I will call No. 1,) I employ the following-named ingredients, in the proportions given: Saltpeter, one (1) ounce; gum camphor, one (1) dram; to which I add twelve (12) tea-spoonfuls of pulverized charcoal, the whole to be triturated in a mortar until thoroughly mixed.
