JAMES, a citi-Q Be it lmown that I, HARRY Improvement in Pole-Anchoring Bases, of which the following is a full and complete description and specification, reference being'hadto the accompanying drawing, which is hereby made a part thereof. This invention relates to that class of device wherein a pole or post is raised upon,
and firmly, though detachably, fastened to an anchoring base.
The objects and purposes of this invention are :to provide a stable anchoringbase for poles and posts; to provide a means whereby the life and service'of poles and posts may be greatly extended; to facilitate and cheapen the making of repairs where poles or posts have become broken ofi or rotted off at or near the ground, or of making replacements where poles or posts have been in any manner ally,;to improve the workability and effectiveness ofthis class of device. i
The invention consists in certain novel features of construction of the several parts, and particularly in their combination, as hereinafter shown and described, andset forth in the accompanying claim. y

This cap .isspeclally constructed in such manner as to insure fixed and rigid attachment to the remainder of base A. This is brought about byso'constructing the cap that viewed from. below, as in Fig. ,3,- it is provided with altern'ate. solid and hollow parts, into which latter: the concrete enters .at the time of molding and becomes solidified therein. This attachment between base A. andcap B is further strengthened and reinforced by the r odsa., a, etc, above mentioned; The
