and the other detachable-and a detachable stay-bar to support the legs in vertical position. The fastenings are composed of fingers, hooks, staples, and sockets adapted to be cheaply made and to be easily and quickly adjusted in erecting and striking the table. An1 iron stand is attached to the board at one enc.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the improved table as erected. Fig. 2 is an underside perspective view of the same as compacted; Fig. 3 is a partial edge view of the table as compacted, illustrating the manner of securin g the detachable leg.
A represents the table-top or board, B B the legs or supports, and G the stay-bar for supporting the legs. D D represent cleats applied to the under side of the board A for the attachment of the legs B B and to prevent warping. The leg B is permanently at: tached to the cleat D by one or more hinges, Z. In erecting the table the leg B is attached by rigid fingers y projecting from the cleat D and staples a: on the face of the leg. The staybar 0 is attached to the legs B B by long straight hooks or fingers a on the ends of the bar entering staples t.
In compacting the table the stay-bar G is first detached 5 then the leg B. The hinged leg B is then folded down onto the board A,
and the leg B secured thereon by hook w and staple c, Fig. 3. The bar 0 is secured by means of sockets sin the ends of the cleats receiving the hooks u. E represents an iron stand secured on the top of the board A.
The table as compacted is illustrated in Fig. 2. In this condition it may be readily stowed away within a verysmall space, and when again required it may in a moment be restored by any one to the working condition illustrated in Fig. 1.
The following is claimed as new:
The improved ironing-table, composed of the board A, hinged leg B, detachable leg B, stay-bar O, and cleats D D with hinge z, fingers and staples y m, hooks and staples a t and w o, and sockets s, with or without the iron stand E, constructed and combined substantially as herein shown and described, for the purpose specified.
