To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, CHARLES G. VJ. Nrrz, a citizen of the United States, residing at /V'auwatosa, in the county of Milwaukee and State of Wisconsin, have invented certain new and useful lmprovementsin Self- Cleaning Needle-Valves, of which the fol- This invention relates to. needle valves, and more especially to those having valve cleaning features.
Primarily the invention consists in a main or inlet valve and a supplemental needle or outlet valve.
The invention also contemplates the employment of the supplemental .or needle valve as a sprayer, and furthermore it contemplates the use of a cleaning pin in the jet opening of the sprayer.
Another obj ectof the invention is to make provision for wear of parts.
Details are set forth in the following specification and claim, and attention is invited to the drawings wherein:

Fig. 2 is a perspective The valve casin comprises a barrel 1 threaded internally and externally as shown and having at its forward end ahead 2. On the exterior thread travels a nut 3 which coacts with-the head and with'packing rings 4 which hold the barrel in the wall of any member where this valve is to be used. Onthe other endiof the barrel is a gland 5 containing packing 6, and through the same passes the valve stem 7 which is cylindrical and smooth at thispoint and has a handle 8 Further inward the valve stem is threaded as at 10, and yet further it while its tip is tapered or of the barrel at the inner end of its threaded portion is contracted to form a conical seat 13 for said tip, and through one side oi the barrel is an inlet 14. Beyond said seat 13, the bore of th barrel is again enlarged into a chamber which opens out the extremity of such barrel.

Flnally the tip of the needle point 22 carries a cleaner pin 29 preferably made flat on its extremity as seen in Fig. 2, and the size of tins pin is such that it does not completely close the jet opening 28.
The parts being assembled as seen, when the handle is turned to retract the stem 7 the tapered tip 12 of the same comes off the seat- 13 and permits liquid to flow from the nlet to said seat and through the outlet 15 into the interior of the cupped casing 25. At the same time that the stem 7 is retracted, the needle 21'is retracted with it and its tip 22 is unseated; and therefore the fluid withneedle will open to a lesser degree on ac count of the difference intaper of the valve seats 13 and 27, and therefore the fluid Within the cup is under some pressure and will be delivered through the jet aperture 28 in the form of spray, as it is broken up by the pin 29.
