IMPROVEMENT IN CASTERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 128,129, dated J une 18,1872.

The object of my invention is to provide a portable caster, which, by means of its peculiar construction, may be readily and easily applied to heavy boxes, machinery, and the like, au-
tomatically, securing itself thereto, and enabling the article to be moved with ease, while, at the same time, it may be detached instant ly, if desired.
References tothe drawing show the nature of my invention.- At 4 is shown the roller, havingbearings in a strap, 3, which passes over it, which strap is bent, as shown, forming an arm, 2, at right angles to the upright portion of the strap. The end of this arm 2 is provided with spurs 1 1, extending upward.
When the device is to be used the box or other article is slightly raised and the arm 2 is run under it as far as possible. The box now being allowed to drop bears on the spurs, preventing the caster from slipping, and its side pressing against the upright portion of the strap keeps the roller even.
