On the feeding roll 30 there is a cam portion 38 which eX- tends partly around said roll and which will engage the roll 31 when the rolls are turned, so as to force the roll 31 upwardly in itsl sliding bearing 32 whereby the wire will be disengaged and will not be fed into the stapling mechanism until-.the cam portion permits the roll 31 tok rengage the roll 3()v and continue to feed in the wire. It will, therefore, be seen thatv the wire will be fed into the. machine at given intervals and in given lengths depending upon thel size of the cam. In a stapling machine, a-wire Afeeding mechanism, a stationary staple forming block, a lever adapted to forma staple, means for forcing said lever upon said block, means independent of the lever forc ing means for moving the lever endyvise to place the staple in position to be driven, a staple driving mechanism, and means independent of the'lever forcing and the lever moving mechanism for operating said staple driving mechanism.
2. In a stapling machine, a Wire feedingmechanism, a stationary staple forming block, a staple forming lever slidably pivoted in said machine, means for forcing said lever upon said block to form a staple, means independent of the lever lovvering device for engaging and moving said lever endivise and causing it to remove the staple from said block and hold it in position to be driven, and means independent of the lever lowering and lever moving device for driving said staple after it has been formed.
3. In a staple forming machine, a wire feeding mechanism, a stationary staple forming block. a staple forming lever slidably pivoted in said machine adapted to form a staple on said block, means for en-l gaging said lever andV causing it to remove the staple from said block, means on Said lever for holding said staple, means independent of the lever engaging means for forcing one end of said staple forming lever downwardly, and means independent of the lever engaging and lever lowering means for driving said staple after it has been formed. In a stapling machine including a driving shaft, cam operated Wire feeding rolls, means on said shaft for driving said rolls, a stationary staple forming loloelr7 a staple forming lever adapted to engage and form a staple n said block, means for causing said lever to disengage the staple from said block, means for operating said lever to form the staple, a Work table, means for elevating said Work table to bring the Work into proper position to be stapled, a hammer for engaging and driving the staple into said work, and cam operated means on said shaft for driving said hammer.

In a stapling machine including a driving shaft, cam operated Wire feeding rolls, means on said shaft for driving said rolls, a stationary staple forming block, a staple forming lever adapted to engage and form a staple on said block, means for causing said lever to disengage the staple 'from said block, a Cam on said shaft for engaging and operating said lever disengaging means, means on said staple forming lever for retaining the staple in position to be driven, a plunger for operating said lever, a cam on said shaft for operating and engaging said plunger, means for returning said staple forming lever to position after being operated, a Work table for elevating the Work in position to be stapled, a hammer for engaging and driving said staple into the Work, and means for operating said hammer.
