BOTTLE-HOLDER.
To all whom it may concern.
Be it known that I, OLLIE B. (lawn, a citizen of the United States, residing at Buflalo, in the county of Erie and State of New York, have invented new and useful Improvements in Bottle-Holders, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to supports or holders for bottles and is especially designed for use in connection with nursing bottles.
The primary object of the invention is to provide a means for supporting and holding a nursing bottle in position upon a crib, carriage or other article for the purpose of fastening the same so that it will be withln convenient reach of the baby.
.A further object of the invention is the provision of a device of this kind which will so support the bottle that it will give to all of the movements of the babys head, the joint between the holder and support provide a flexible and universal joint.
A further object of the inventionis the provision of a holder of the class described which is capable of adjustment in all directions and is also capable of clamping and securely holding bottles of various sizes and shapes.
With the above and other objects in view the invention consists of a sleeve provided with longitudinal wings which are so shaped in cross section asto form an arc, the said Wings being provided with inturned flanges which are adapted to engage similar flanges formed on the pivoted spring clip, the said clip .and arcuate flanges providing means 'for securing the sleeve upon the post of a crib 'or other support. The invention also consists of a bracket arm provided with a straight portion adapted to be adjustably mounted within the sleeve and with an angularly extending portion having pivotally secured at its end a bar, and a sleeve capable of being adjustably secured around the bottle and connected with the said bar by means of a ring. 7
In the drawings a Figure 1 is a side elevation of the invention shown as secured to the post of a bed or crib;
Fig. 2 is a cross sectional line 2-2 of Fig. -1;
Fig. 3 is a'detail vertical'sectional view Specification of Letters Patent.
Application filed December 22, 1916. Serial No. 138,425.
view on the Patented Sept. 17,1918.
on the line 33 of Fig. 1, illustrating the holder in position upon a bedstead.
Referring to the drawings in detail the invention comprises a sleeve 10, which has formed integrally therewith longitudinal flanges 11. These flanges are arcuate shape in cross section and are provided along their edges with inturned flanges 12, for the purpose of engaging similar flanges 13 formed upon the ends of each of the sections 14 of the spring "clip 15. This clip is provided with a spring hinge as shown at 16 and has ears or finger pieces 17 connected therewith for the purpose of providing a convenient means of manipulation. A'bracket arm 18 is adapted to be adjustably mounted in the sleeve 10, and for this purpose is provided with a vertical portion 19 for insertion in said sleeve, while an adjusting screw 20 carried. by the sleeve is adapted to engage the bracket arm to regulate the height to which it may be positioned. The bracket arm 18 is provided with an angularly bent portion 21, the outer end of which has pivoted by means of which the bottle is secured to the holder or support. The clamp 25 is in the form of a split ring and is provided with a set screw 26 by means-of which it may be removably clamped to the bottle which is shown at 27. The manner of connecting the clamp 25 to thebar 23 enables the bottle to be moved to any position both vertically and horizontally and provides a substantially universal flexible connection between the support and the bottle. By means of this connection the bottle will give to all the various movements of the babys head While in the act of nursing, and should it become disengaged from its mouth, will remain in I position where it may be again conveniently 17. The flanges 12 of the sleeve 10 are then inserted within the flanges 13 of the members 14, by slightly pulling apart the said members 14 and sliding the flanges 11 longitudinally of the support until the flanges .12 and Having described the invention, what is claimed 1s: p
A nursing bottle holder comprising a pivoted bracket arm, means attachable to one end of said bracket arm for securing a bottle thereto, a sleeve adapted to adjust-' ably receive the opposite end of the arm,
oppositely extending arcuate shaped flanges carried by said sleeve and a hinged spring clip slidably engagingsaid flanges to secure the said bracket to a support. 7
In testimony whereof I aifix my signature.
