further object of the invention is to provide a resser foot of the above character having means. to support the stationary member of a) trimming mechanism. with a strip deflector which extends across the foot in advance ofthe trimmer and which is piv o'tally connected to the foot so as to swing in a plane inclined to a vertical plane containing the line of feed, whereby the defleeting means is raised free of the stationary trimmer and its clamping parts as it is turned to inoperative osition.

A still'fnrther object o. the invention is to provide :1 presser foot of the above character with a removable plate having a plurality of needle slots and stitch fingers extending into the same over which the threads are laid during the formation of the stitches.

These and other objects will in part be obvious and will in part be hereinafter more fully disclosed.

Having thus described my inreniion, what I claim as new and desire to secure by LettersPatent, is: 4
