In Figs. 3. 4 and '5, the abdominal sections 1.9 are shown as narrow sections. Extending hutwecn those narrow sections and cov- QIlIlg the middle front section of the abdoinen, is a shaped supporting section 26. The section 26 is constructed of Woven rubber fabric and is provided in the center thereof, with stays 27, which mannain the shape of the svction 26, and providv memos for anohorihg the tabs 17. In this form of the corset. the section 26 is united temporarily to the sections ill, by lacings 28, which engage Dli hooks 29 on the stayed edges 30 of the sections 26 and 19. It is obvious that this form of a corset lends itself to the needs of a reducingcorset or to a maternity corset, the
pressure on the abdomen being varied by tightening or loosening the lacing 28.
Claims.
1. A corset comprising a plurality of nonelastic stiffened back-covering portions extending the full length of the corset, lacing means for extensibly iinitin the same at the middle of the back, a plura ity of elastic abdomen-covering portions, eaci permanently attached at one end thereof to one of said back portions; a plurality of non-elastic bust-covering brasslere portions, each permanent] attached to said back ortions and arrange to overlie in unattacii thereto the upper edge of said abdomen-covering portions when in service, and a plurality of straps for supporting said abdomen-covering portions, said straps being ated relation elastic stiffened back-covering portions extending the full length of the corset, lacing means for extensibly unitin the same at the middle of the back, a plura it of elastic abdomen-covering portions, eac permanently attached at one end thereof to one of said back-covering portions; a plurality of nonelastic bust-covering brassiere ortions, each permanently attached to said hack-covering portions and arranged to overlie the upper edge of said abdomen-covering portions when in service, and means for maintaining the service relation of said brassiere portions and abdomen-covering portions, said means embodying a tightening strap enfolding said back-covering and said abdomen-coverin portions, and a keeper on said abdomen-covering portion for holding said straps.
