Description

STATES lIE'IEERFRIUGCID PAGLIERI, OF BOLOGNA, ITALY.
HAND-VISIE.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented July 16, 191s.
Application lled April 28, 1915. Serial No. 24,460.
To all whom 'it may concern Be it known that I, FERRUCCIO PAGLIERI, engineer, subject of the King of Italy, residing at Bologna, 210 Via Saragozza, Italy, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Hand-Vises, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to certain new improvements in hand-vises as are generally used for wire work-by electrical engineers.
The object of my invention is to provide a novel embodiment of construction whereby extreme simplicity and speediness isob tained in the use of same.
My invention comprises means to keep the wire engaged automatically and means -to release same by the use of one hand only.
A formof construction of my invention is represented in the annexed drawing.
Figure l is a plan view of my hand-vise.
Fig. 2, Fig. 3 and Fig. 4 represent some details of construction of same.
Fig. 5 is a section through line -A-B- Cf on a part of the apparatus as represented in Fig. 2.
Fig. 6 shows' an edge view of the vise" applied to a wire.
Similar reference-numerals represent like parts throughoutgthe drawing.
The vise comprises a plate '1- provided 1 with a suspension hole -2- and two recesses Two springs -5-6- are seated in said recesses for the purpose hereafter described.
7-8 are the vise jaws, pivotably mounted they have toothed surfaces -11-12- and handles 18-44. From a lateral point of said jaws, facing the recesses 3 4- project pins l5-16 entering said recesses underneath the lower ends of springs 6.
By applying one hand to the handles 13 and 14 and by drawing one against the other, the jaws assume such a position as to release the wire.
If the appliance is released, while a wire end is projecting between them, the jaws will keep the wire automatically engaged, owing to the action of the springs 5 and If said jaws are released, while a wire end is projecting between them, they will keep the wire automatically engaged, as shown in Fig. -6.
Having now particularly described the nature of my invention and the manner in which the same should be performed I claim:
A wire-stretching apparatus comprising a plate fitted with ring,'-two cams fitted with hand levers and constituting two jaws pivotally secured to the said plate,-recesses for maintaining the said jaws in closed position, the said. recesses being tightly closed FERRUCCIO PAGLIERI.
