MACHINE-STAND.
Application filed March 16, 1917.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, LOUIS BRoEMEL, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Southington, in the county of Hartford, State of Connecticut, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Machine- Stands, of which the following is a specification.
The object of this invention is to produce a new and useful stand for small portable machines, which are used in various combinations, such for instance as the machines used by tinners in fashioning various articles. To perform all of the operations necessary a number of machines are required, and by my invention it is possible to have them in very compact arrangement, easy to get at, easy to change, and it is possible to bring each machine as it is wanted for use, into what may be termed an operating position.
In the drawings Figure 1 is a central vertical section of a machine embodying my invention.
Fig. 2 is a plan view thereof.
In the drawings, a denotes a pedestal having a round head I) at the top, upon which is mounted a table 2 recessed as at (Z to fit the head 2), and rotatable thereon. e is a clamp plate, and f a clamp by means of which the table can be held in any position of rotary adjustment. As seen in Fig. 2, the table is of spider construction, having arms the ends of which are apertured to receive the holders h, which may be fixed in adjusted position by set screws z. The holders are socketed as at to receive the stems k of the machine, which are held in position by set screws Z.
Below the rotatable table 0 is the table 5, having spaced apertures 6 to receive the holders h. Between the two tables are secured slotted projections 10 to receive and support empty holders.
It will be seen from a consideration of these drawings that this machine stand will Specification of Letters Patent.

take care of eight of the small bench-type machines such as sheet metal working machines; that four machines which are used successively may be positioned in the rotata ble table, and that the workman can establish a given position as the operating position, and turn the table to bring each machine successively into position for use. Then, when this set of machines has been used to perform the Work for which they are adapted, they can be removed and placed in the lower table, and replaced by such other machines as are required to complete the operations. Each machine is adapted for adjustment vertically and rotarily on the rotary table. thus making its possible to bring the operating portions of the machine into the most convenient position for the workmen; and as many of these machines are crank-driven it is possible to swing the machine so as to permit a free operation of the crank. This is also a reason for making the table of the spider construction shown.
As a result of this invention there is provided a very convenient piece of apparatus which will take care of a complete set of machines in a very small space, keeping them ready for immediate and convenient use.
I claim as my invention A machine stand comprising a pedestal, a circular bearing head at the upper end of said pedestal, a table centrally recessed to fit upon said bearing head, said table having a plurality of spaced radially extending arms, each of said arms having an aperture adjacent its outer terminal to removably support a tool holder, tool holding means carried by each arm whereby said tool holders may be vertically adjusted with relation to its respective arm, and a locking means for said table whereby the latter may be held in any position of rotary adjustment with relation to the pedestal.
LOUIS BROEMEL.
