To all whom it may; 007106??? Be it known than I, n Jones, a citizen of the mine ing at Troy, in the county of 5 of Alabama, have invented e. Improvements in WatehC' vie the following is e specifice-ncn.
This invention relates to and more particularly iii) which is adapt-e6. to serve easing 1 0m Watch when p The primary object of the provide a Watch holder wherein a casing comprises edly connected easing secio the casing sections having a sprin pressed winding With a ip upon the opposi'i-e e ing section in retaining a iv A i 20sa1d casing secfiion when. the heh e e A further object of the inve provide the hingeii} connected au the casing Wiih inter-engaging .1 here of novel construction 193] z 26 the-sections of? the closed position.
With these and? ache? ohjeecs invention resides in the new? tion and arrangement of n,
80 be hereinafter described and pointed out in the cieiin The prefei'rei embodiment tion has been illustrated ing drawing, although no resnr' 85 essariiy made to the precise diet struction therein shown, as chem tions, and modifications the claim may he resorted in 'W e Like characters of Inference 40 respondin peris throng-hon? views in t e drawing, in whie Figure 1 is a from; View or: Watch holder.
Fig. 2 is a ViBW the fees? Sin.
46 Watch holder:
Fig. 3 is a sic e eie'vation peir'et'iy in of the Watch holder.
ig. 4 is a View skewing the and one of the casing sections in tion. Fig 5 is a, horizonfiei se throu 11 the neck of the Watch Re erring new to the the numeral 1 designates section en i ems-es the hecksec- Hi-itch 18 n 4% overlies a. to prevent form of a casing formeii expansion spring 19 encircling the shank 17 and arranged wlthin the housing 14 between the closed end 15 thereof and head 18 on the shank 17. The lining enables the head 18 to obtain a firm grip on the head on the winding stem of a watch when the key is used to Wind the watch, while the spring 19 serves to force the watch firmly against the lip 9.
The end of the shank 17 which extends beyond the closed end 15 of the housing 1% is provided with an operating head 20. Through the above described manner of connecting the winding key 16 with the front section 3 of the casing, it will be seen that the spring 19 not only serves to frictionally engage the head 18 with the winding stem of a watch but enables .the shank of the Wind ing key to be adjusted within the housing 14 so that watches which difier in size in diameter may be retained within the casing and held therein when the holder is open by the Winding key and lip 9.
The back section 1 of the casing has secured thereto a strip of material which is bent to form a hook 21 by means of which the watch holder may be secured to a belt or the like.
In order that the watch holder ma be connected with an outer garment, the back section 4 has pivotall connected therewith one end of a pin 22, t e other end of which is adapted to be brought into engagement with a keeper 23 on the back section thus enabling the watch holder to be quickly and easily connected with or removed from an outer garment, or the like, when desired.
" s now arranged within. the front section 3 v and the hollow head 18 engaged with the winding stem thereof to retain the watch engaged with the lip 9' The front section 3 is now swung to a closed position at which time, the latch springs 11 ei'igage with the keepers 13 and hold said sections in locked position.
The holder may now be connected with a belt by means of the hook 2]. on the back. section 4 or may be secured to an outer garment by means of the pin 22, it, of course, being understood that both the hook 21, and pin 22 may be used for this purpose if desired.
Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new, is:
The combination with a watch, ot a casing therefor comprising a pair of hingedly con- RICHARD EDWIN JONES.
