In operation, to lock the switch lever the same is moved to a depending position 45 whereby the laterally extending lug 17 at the upper end is inserted in the opening 18 in the rear of the casing and engaged against the lever 42, rocking said lever whereby to rock latch lever 10 and to disengage the hook end 39 thereof from the lug 38 where.

While we have illustrated and described our invention with some'degree of partieu larit'y, we realize that in practice various al teratlons thereover may be made, an'd' we" therefore desire to reserve the right and privilege of changing the form of the details of construction; or otherwise altering the arrangement of the correlative parts without de artin from thespirit of the invention or the scope of the appended claims.
Having thus described our invention, what we claim as new and desire to secure by Let ters Patent 1s:
1. A- lock for switch stands, including a casing having an opening therein,' a bolt slidably mounted to extend across the'opem ing and to enter the aperture of one' end of a switch lever, a lever pivoted withinthe casing having one end pivotally connected to the bolt, the other end being bifurcated to receive a key therebetween whereby thelever may be oscillated, means for retaining the bolt in an unlocked position, and means forming an obstruction" across the opening of the lock casing and engageable by the end of the switch lever to release said retaining means to permit the bolt tobe shift ed to closed position.
2.
