Description
r. 0. HULT KEY AND KNOB HOLDER FOR DOORS.
APPLICATION FILED JAN. 2.1917.
Patented Mar. 26,1918,
cut diameters may be easily clamped, the yoke and bar being serrated as already described in connection with the other figures. The bolt U extends entirely through the yoke extremity and When tightened in a nut W or equivalent portion clamps the bar S firmly in place.
In the other figures in order to attach or detach the device, the bar is removed from the yoke, the set screWN inerely extending far enough into the latter to frictic-nally engage the bar. I
Preferably I provide the hook K for the bar, Which When the device is carried in the pocket, the hook may be used as a shoebuttoner. The parts are all preferably made of hardened steel so that the serrations can be forced more or less deeply into the spindle and absolutely prevent that member being turned.
Having thus described my invention, I claim: V
1. In a device for securing the knob spindle of a door, a U-shaped yoke having a serrated inner surface to engage and grip the spindle and having an opening in each extremity substantially in line with one another, a bar arranged to engage in both openings and having a serrated face to engage and grip the spindle, and means to secure the bar relatively to the yoke and the spindle, said bar having an extension adapted to engage a part fixed relatively to the door.
2. In a device for securing the knob spindle of a door, a U-shaped yoke having a serrated inner surface to engage and grip Gopies of this patent may be obtained for the spindle and having an opening in each extremity substantially in line With one another, a bar arranged to slidably engage in both the openings in a longitudinal direction and adapted tohave lateral Inovethe spindle and having an opening 1n each extremity substantially. in line With one another, a bar arranged to slidably engage in both the openings in a longitudinal direction and adapted to have lateral movement in said openings, said bar having a serrated face to engage and grip the spindle at a point opposite the part thereof gripped by the yoke, a clamping device carried by an extremity of the yoke for clamping the bar, the latter having a longitudinal slot substantially equal in length to the Width of the yoke, the bar being maintained in permanent connected relation with the yoke, said bar also having an extension adapted to engage apart carried by the door.
In testimony whereof I aifix my signature, in presenceof two Witnesses. FRANK '0. HUIJT. Witnesses: V Roscoe Harem,
