This invention relates to a method of folding and formingl folded inserts such asperformed by a machine forming the subject matter of ,my co-pending application for folding and plaiting machine, filed of even date herewith, Serial No. 157,515.

AThis invention relates to a method of forming a plurality of small folded pieces of strips of paper or other material which may have any desired characters imprinted or marked thereon for use in a game-board provided withsmall apertures into Which the .folded marked strips are inserted so that the characters thereon are entirely concealed.

Heretofore Ait has been the-practice to wind small numbered or marked strips of paper' into spiral form for insertion into the apertures in the game board, but this has been a tedious operation.

This invention contemplates using long strips of material which arel transversely perforated to divide the strips into divisions on which characters are marked, and then folding or'f'plaiting the strip longitudinally so that each of the divisions thereof is plaited' transversely throughout its length and the small folded divisions may then be separated along Ithe lines of perforation and readily inserted through the apertures pro-V vided therefor in a .gameboard.

I am aware that yarious details of my invention may be varied through a wide range VWithout departing from the principles thereof, and I therefore do not purpose limiting the patent granted otherwise than necessitated by the prior art.

I claim as my invention:

1. A method of providing small folded strips of material consisting in transversely perforating a long strip-ofmaterial, longifor game boards comprising transversely perforating a long strip of paper atshort distances apart, making longitudinal creasesv in the strip', pressing the longitudinal folds tightly together and severing the strip at the perforations makingv small folded portions. v l Y In testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my'name in the presence of two subscribingA witnesses.
