IMPROVEMENT IN MOP-HEADS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 125,895, dated April 23, 1872.
Specification describing certain Improve ments in Mop-Heads, invented by STEPHEN C. KETGHUM, of Winchendon, in the county of Worcester and State of Massachusetts.
My invention relates to the double swinging binder and spring-lever, acting in combination with a grooved head so as to hold the mop in such manner that the head cannot hit the iioor or mop-board, and also to enable the operator to adjust the mop with ease and safety.
It will be seen by reference to the accompanyin g drawing that Figure l represents a side Y view of head; Fig. 2, an end View with mop The right side of View represents the binder and spring in position to hold the mop, While the left side shows the spring lifted from the catch on the handle and thrown down ready to receive the mop.
I do not claim the grooved iron head or socket; but
I claim as my invention- 1. The combination of the binders F F, springs G G, and catches e e, constructed substantially as and for the purpose described.
2. The combination of the grooved mop-head A, having curved and slotted ends, with the binders F F, springs G G, catches e e, and handle D, all constructed and arranged substantially as shown and described.
