To all 'wlw/m t may Concern:
Be yit lmown that I, HAROLD l'l. WILL, a
citizen of the United States, and a resident of Syracuse, in the county of @nondaga and State of New York, have invented a certain new and useful CandleLa1np,of whichthe .This invention has for its object a` `candle lamp which isparticularly simple andeconomical in Vconstruction and highly eilicient anddurable in `usegand it consists in the'v novel i combina tions and constructions hereinafter set forth and claimed. 1
ln describing` this invention reference is had tothe accompanying drawings in which like characters parts in all the views.
Figure 1 isa vertical sectional view of mycandle lamp.`
F ig. 2 is a plan of the base thereof.
This candle lamp comprises a base including a cup, a candle located within the cup, and a chimney rising from the cup, the cup being formed with an air chamber in the lower portion thereof, having inlets and outlets respectively opening on the eX- terior of the cup and into the interior of the cup,
1 designates the base including a body which is here illustrated as a tray, and a cup 2 supported centrally of the tray, and having an air chamber therein.
3 is a candle holder located within the cup 2 and here shown as in the form of a cup in which the candle t is located, the cup 3 being preferably made of transparent glass, and the candle tting, and being located entirely within, the cup or holder 3.
5 is a chimney rising above the upright wall of the cup 2 and extending Vinto and fitting the same, the chimney being cylindrical at its lower end and resting on the upper wall of the air receiving chamber to be described.
ln this form of my invention the tray is formed with a central depression 6 and the lower portion of the cup iits into the depres# sion with its bottom 7 engaging the bottom of the depression 6. The lapping` or engaging portions of the cup 2 and the walls of the depression 6 are formed with alined perfora'tions 8 which constitute the air inlets for the air receiving chamber.
The air receiving chamber is annular in form and extends around the lower portion designate corresponding Specification@ Letters Patent. i rgytntd Fmt), `203, Application filed Octoberl, 1915. Serial IIo. 53,544. i Y
of the bottomand side walls ofthe cup 2 confine the air receiving chamber'. p
As here shown, the member 9 1s pan shape and inserted in the cup 2'w1th its bottom against the bottomwof the cup 2, and the wall 10 constitutes the side wall of the pan` and also an outwardly `extending flange or rim 11 which touches` the inner face of the upright wall of the cup'2; The outlet perforations 12 are formed inthe flange or rim 11. f
`The chimney 5 rests at its lower edge on the flange 11.
