To all whom 'it may concern.'
Be it known that I, HARRY citizen of the United States, reslclin at Bronson, in the county of Branch and tate of Michigan, have invented a certainr new and useful Improvement in Lamps, of which the following is a full, clear, concise, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification.
My invention relates to reflecting electric 'lamps and has for oneeof its objects the provision of an improved mounting for the glass front which is commonly provided for such a lamp. By means of one characteristic of my invention the door or lid which permits access to the interior of the lamp structure operates as a clamping device for holding the glass :front against the portion of the lamp structure to the rear of the glass.-
In accordance with another feature of my invention the glass front is provided with a resilient mounting that operates to maintain the glass front in its normal position'but which will-yield to allow the glass momentarily to shift. in its own plane and'- with reference to the balance of the lamp structure when the lamp structure is subject `to` sufiicient shock, whereby fracture of the glass front is prevented. The lid which operates to clamp the glass in position has such "pressure upon the glass as to hold the glass 1n its own plane while at the same time permitting the glass to move in its plane under the circumstances described. The resilient mounting for the glass is desirably carried by thelid.
The invention has as another of its characteristics the rovision of an improved means of attaching the lid to the portion of the lamp structure to the rear of the glass.
I will explain my invention more fully by reference to the accompanying drawing showing the preferred embodiment thereof and in which Figure 1 is a sectional elevation on line 1-1 of Fig. 2; Fig. 2 is a sectional -elevation on line 2-2 of Fig. 1; Fig. 3 is a plan view on line 3-3 of Fig. 2; and Fig. 4 is a sectional view on line 4 4 of Fig. 2.

The front of the lamp is provided v with a door or lid d, later to be more fully described, for affording access to the interior of the lamp structure. The electric lamp bulb c has a base d that carries the lamp terminals, this base being suitably held within a sleeve f as by means of a bayonet catch 'g'. The back element a and the reflectorelement b are in separable relation,
