MICHAEL LGREEN, or ROCKFORD, ILLINOIS, ASSIGNOR To ECLIPSE GAS s'rovn COMPANY, OF ROCKFORD, ILLINOIS, A CORPORATION OF ILLINOIS.
WALL- U NER.
To all whom 'izl 'mayconcerai' Be it known that 1, MICHAEL J. GnnEN,a
citizen of the United States, residing at Rockford, in the county of Winnebago and Stateof Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in lVall-Burners, of which the following is a specification.
There are many Occasions when an individu'aljburner heating means of small capacity is desirable. Such a means is'found to be especially useful and necessary in a doctors or-"d'entistsOffice, in laboratories, bathrooms,
etc., where it is often desired to heat a small quantity of water, to prepare medicines, to cook or to heat any article or receptacle of comparatively small size. To meet this need in'a most simple and efficient manner has been'the primary object of my invention,
and I have, therefore, provided a wall burner of novel construction adapted to be secured to any wall or like support in such manner as to be conveniently accessible.
Another object of my invention is to pr0- vide as an article "of manufacture a wall burner of a simple and pleasing design, practical" in operation',"and which" canbe manufactured at a low cost.
More specifically, further objects of my invention are to provide 'a-wall burner comprising in general a wall "plate'adapted to e secured to a wall, a bowl'connected to the wall'plateat the face thereof, a grate mounted on the bowl, and a burner disposed within the bowl below the grate for heating an article mounted thereupon; to provide means for deflecting rising heated air outwardly from a wall to which the wall plate may be secured; toembody said deflecting the following detailed description,
considered in connection. with the accom: panying drawings, wherein .Figure 1 is a face View of a wall burner embodying my improvements;
Fig. 2 is a plan view of the wall burner; Fig. 3 is a vertical sectional view through the wall burner taken on the line 3'3 of Fig. l; and i Fig. 4 is a vertical section through a portion of the bowl, illustrating the manner in which the same is attached to the wall plate.
Referring to the drawings, it, will beobserved that the wall burner comprises in general a wall plate designated in general by reference character 5 adapted to be secured in upright position to a wall, and means disposed at, the face of and connected to the wall plate for supporting and heat-.
ing an article, which means will be more.
fully described hereinafter. The wall plate may beof any suitable configuration, apreferred shape being rectangular, as shown in Fig. 1. The wall plate, preferably formed as an imperforate casting, provides a substantial support for the article supporting and heating means and serves to shield the.
wall in vproximity to thewallburner from being damaged fromheat incident to the use thereof; By providing the wall plate on its rear face. with laterally projecting feet 6, the wall plate may be held, when secured to a wall by suitable means such as screws 7, in spaced relation to the wall whereby the wall plate is insulated therefrom by the air space thus formed. How-. ever, if desirable, other means may be employed to insulate the wall plate from the wall. To further provide against blemishing or marring the wall in proximity to the pleasing to the eye and that the finish beof.
