lMPROVEMENT m Quick-MACHINES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 125,255, dated April 2, 1872! To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HERMAN O. BANKERD, of Morgantown, in the county of Monongalia, and in the State of West Virginia, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Brick-Machine; and do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawing and to the letters of reference marked thereon, making a part of this specification.
Ihe nature of my invention consists in the construction and arrangement of a mud-stirrer for brick-machines, as will be hereinafter more fully set forth.
In order to enable others skilled in the art to which my invention appertains to make and use the same, I will now proceed to describe its construction and operation, referring to the annexed drawing, in which- Figure 1 is a perspective view, and Fig. 2 a side View.
A represents an upright shaft, which passes through the center of the hind-box in a brickmachinci Around this shaft is secured, in anger form, a flange, B, which is made concave on its under side the better to force the mud or. clay downward. From the outer edge of the flange B, at suitable intervals, depend vertical knives O O, which cut the clay and keep it loose from the sides of the box.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-- s The concave flange B, provided with vertical knives G O, and attached in anger form to the shaft A, substantially as and for the purposes herein set forth.
