lMPROVEMENT IN COMPOUND IMPLEMENTS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 125,336, dated April 2, 1872.
thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawing and to the letters of reference marked thereon making a part of this specification.
The nature of my invention consists in the construction and arrangement of a combined key-check, knife-sharpener, and watch-key, as will be hereinafter more fully set forth.
In order to enable others skilled in the art to which my invention appertains to make and use the same, I will now proceed to describe its construction and operation, referring to the annexed drawing, in which- Figure l is a side view, Fig. 2 an edge view, and Fig. 3 is a partial section of my device.
A represents a plain key-check, on which may be engraved or otherwise affixed the name or name and address of the owner, and at the upper end of said key-check is a projection, a, with hole b for admitting thekey-rin On one side of the metallic plate A two ears or projections are formed (one above the other) by suitably cutting away a part of the plate, as
shown; and to each of these cars is pivoted a circular steel disk, B, of such size that the adjacent edges of each extend a short distance above and below each other, the two cars being slightly bent in opposite directions for this purpose. -lhis device forms a pocketknife sharpener. On the lower end of the key-check A is pivoted the watch-key C, so that when the key is not in use it can be turned around alongside of the check and have its opening come close to a projection, d, on the check, and thus preventing dust from coming into the hole.
By this simple device Icombine a key-check, knife-sharpener, and wa-tch-key, which will be found convenient, simple, and practical in its construction and use.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by-Lctters Patent, is-- The compound implement, consisting of the check A, sharpener B B, and key 0, or any two of them, allconstructed as described, and arranged in the manner set forth.
