Be it known that I, EMIL BnNsoN, a citizen 0f the United States, residing at Jasper,

in the county of Pipestone and State of Winnesota, haveinvented certain new and useful Improvements 1. in Dish-Drainers, of 5 which This invention contemplates an improved dish drainer and has as its primary object to provide a device of thischaracter which maybe attached to any conventional type of dish pan orother similar vessel for supporting the dishes in position to drain therefrom back into the pan.- 1

-The invention has as a further object to 4 provide a device of this character employing resiliently actuated catch members-for connecting the drainer with the pan so that the drainer will be securely held in position.

And a still further object of the invention is to provide a drainer which will be simple in construction and may thus be'produced at minimum cost.

Other and incidental objects will appear as the description proceeds and in the drawings wherein I have illustrated the preferred embodiment of the invention and wherein similar reference characters designate corresponding parts throughout the several Views:

body 10 outwardly flared toward its free edge and provided at its inner extremity with a foraminous draining flange 11 projecting upwardly and outwardly away from the body 10 so that the drainer is, as particularly shown in Fig. 2 of the drawings,

substantially V -shaped'in cross-section. The flange 11 is curved to conform to the longi tudinal curvature of the body 10 and may be integral therewith or secured to the body in any suitable manner. At its inner extremity, or adjacent the junction'o'f the said flange with the body, the flange is provided with a series of drain openings 12. The body 10 and flange 11 are flexible and preferably formed from suitable resilient sheet metalbent into desired shape. Extending downwardly from the outer side of the body 10 adjacent the-inner extremity thereof, are a plurality of circumferentially spaced supporting brackets 13. each preferably formed from a strip of suitable sheet metal bent intermediate the ends thereof to'define a substantially U-shaped foot 14: with the extremities of the strip secured in any approved manner to the body 10. Adjacent its ends, the body of the drainer is provided with clips 15 having the: working ends thereof presented down-.

The drainer thus described is formed to' fit upon a dish pan or other similar vessel, in the manner illustrated in Figs. 1 and 2 of the drawings. Such a pan is conventionally shown at 19 and is provided, at its free edge, with the usual flange 20. The body 10 is restedupon the flange to be sup feet 14 of which are adapted to embrace the flange 20 for holding the drainer against lateral displacement, while the hooks 16'0f "the clips 15 are engageable with the said flange, as also illustrated in Fig. 2 for firmly connecting the drainer with the pan. When so attached to the pan, it will be observed that the drain openings 12 in the drain flange 11 are supported below the peripheral edge of the pan. Furthermore, the drainer may. be flexed, as indicated by dotted lines in Fig. 1, to adapt the drainer to different sized pans. so flexed, the-drainer will, as will be clear, yieldably engage with the pan for tightly connecting the drainer therewith.
