' This invention relates to improvements in dental bridgework, and more especially appertains to an improved construction of removable dentures.
One of the objects of the invention'is to produce a device of the character described including a strong and properly guided support for artificial teeth which shall he capable of self adjustment into its assigned position. 4
Another object is the provision of a device of the nature set forth embodying means for securely locking it to an adjacent receiving part without interfering withits self-adjusting features.- r
A further object is to provide a device of the species mentioned that canbe quickly applied to the receiving part and will readily find its bearing surface, from which it Other objects and advantages will become apparent as the specification proceeds.
With the aforesaid objects in view the invention consists of the improvements, novel construction, arrangements and combinations of parts hereinafter described, defined in the subjoined claims, and illustrated in their preferred embodiments by the annexed drawing,-wherein like elements are designated by the same reference characters throughout.

It is self-adjusting over the ridge both in a vertical=and in a horizontal direction and-the adjustment remains unaffected during mastication as the engaged parts 11 and 26 then: coact in'preventing the artificial portion of the denture from rising.

In a case, where a single artificial denture is required that is, at only one side of the mouth, thebar 34 can be of avery much shorter length, and its outer or free end may be anchoredto or around any one of the sound teeth, so as to prevent the saddle from working sidewise. Furthermore, the dental attachment hereinabovedescribed can be used for other-teeth than those exemplified in the accompanying drawing with? out sacrificing any ofv its principal advantages. V
While certain preferredembodiments of this device have been shown and described, it will be understood that changes in the form, arrangements, sizes, proportions and details thereof may be made without-departing from the scope of the invention as de-' fined by the appended claims.
Having described my invention what I desire to secure by Letters Patent and claim 1s 1. A dental attachment including a member applicable to the alveolar ridge in a vertical direction, a guide anchored to an adjacent tooth opposite one end of said member, means on the latterfor engaging said guide, and a fulcrumed binding element adapted to bear positively on the guide so as to hold the member away from said tooth.
