To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that 1, JOHN L. ECKERSON, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Display- Cabinets, of which the following is a specification. V V

This invention relates to displaydevices, particularly to display cabinets for umbrellas, canes, wearing apparel and other articles of merchandise, and has for its object the provision of a display cabinet having a glass covered front portion and-a plurality of revoluble shelves disposed therein and so associated with the back portion that opening a door in the back portion will cause the shelves to be withdrawn from the cabinet for the removal of articles displayed, the shelves being returned when the door is closed.

An important object is the provision ofa cabinet of this character having its back portion so constructed that it may be swung bodily open to permit ready access to the interior without removing the shelves the shelves being revoluble within the frame of the cabinet and detachably connected with the operating door.

A further object is the provision of a cabinet of this character having a novel pivotal mounting for the shelves whereby they will swing clear, of the edges of the operating door and the normally stationary back portion.

Another object is the provision of a cabinet of this character which will be dustproof, simple in construction and operation, pleasing in appearance, efficient in service and a general improvement of the art.

With these objects and advantages in view, my invention consists in the novel construction and arrangement of parts to be hereinafter more fully described and claimed, and illustrated in the accompanyin drawings, in which:

Pivotally connected with one upright'Q by hinges 6 is the normally stationary section 7 of the back to which is pivotally secured byhinges 8 the operating door '9. The section 7 is provided with a suitable lock 10 and the door 9 is provided with a similar look 11 andalso a handle 12.

The revoluble shelf member comprises a vertically disposed standard 13 having securedthereto at suitable intervals trays or shelves 14 and 15 of any convenient size and shape and adapted to support any desired articles to be displayed,-though in the present instance I have shown them as semicircular and provided with holes for the reception of umbrellas, parasols or canes;

The shelves 14: are shown as of less diameter than the shelves 15 and in 'alinement' with each other and arranged alternately injre'la-f tion to the shelves 15, though I do not limit myself to this arrangemen v V This shelf member is revolubly mountedwithin the frame of the cabinet by meansof L-shaped brackets 16 secured to the upper and lower ends of the'standard 13 and hav ing pivot pins 17 secured to the outwardly extending arms 18 thereof and disposed in suitable socket or bearing members 19 in the base 1 and cross-bar 3.

It is necessary that the shelf member be detachably connected with the operating door 9, and to this end any suitable fastener such as a hook 20 may be provided upon one of the shelves for engagement with a screweye 21 on the door 9. It will be understood that I may use some preferred form of catch in place of this hook and eye connection.

In order that the back section 7 and door 9 may fit snugly within the frame and still not interfere with the brackets 16, I pro- 23, respectively, for the, reception. of. the brackets.
