In said prior shaped strap which engaged the upper clamping member were arranged-to slide within the arms of the lower strap, and an independent clip connected to through which the arms of the upper strap were arranged to slide, pivoted in said clip and arranged in slots formed in the arms of position to engage the arms of the upper strap.
This construction was found to be objectionable for several reasons. The straps could not be moved together to the extent de: sired, as the arms of the upper strap en gaged the sole-holding board of the lower.
