This invention has relation to an improved hay-elevator; and consists in the general construction and novel arrangement of the parts and devices composing it, to better adapt it to its purposes.
In the accompanying drawing illustrating this invention, A represents a rectangular frame, which is placed on ground; B B, uprights attached to either side .of this frame, an d supporting a transverse beam, C, through which passes and turns a vertical shaft, D, having its lower bearing in a cross-bar, E, and holding on its upper end an oscillatin g beam, F. G G are pulley-wheels journaled in slots at the ends of the beam F; G a pulley-wheel journaled in a slot at the top of the post D;
"H, a horizontal arm project-ing from this post A 5 K, a rope or cord which passes over the pulleys G G G, and around under J. One end of this cord or rope holds a fork, L, and the other a hitching device, M. N represents a cord or chain, which is attached to the rear end oi the beam F, and thence passes around the pulley I. It is intended for the purpose ofraising and swinging around the post D, and may at any time be connected to a hook, O, projecting from the side of lthe frame A in order to keep the beam F and post D in position.
I claim as my invention- The hay-elevator having frame A, revolving post D, with the pulley Gll at its upper end, beam F, provided with the pulleys G G', bar H, pulleys I J, and cords, or their equivalents, K N, all operating together substantially as and for the purpose specified.
In Vtestimony that I claim the above I have hereunto subscribed my naine in the presence of two witnesses. f
