Be it known that I, PHILIP 0. TETRAULT,
a citizen of the United States, residing atv Biddeford, in the county of York and State of Maine, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Loom-Pickers, of
which the following is a speciiication.
This invention relates to improvements in loom pickers. Its object is to provide a picker which 4is easily and cheaply constructed, being made from a single piece of rawhide or other material, having the usual cushion filling but without metal fastenings. In the drawings herewith accompanying and forming apart of this application Figure 1 is a plan view of a blank used in the construction of my picker; Fig. 2 is a per- 4 spective view showing the picker applied to a picker stick; Fig. 3 is a perspective view of my improved picker without the cushion filling, and Fig. 4 is atransverse sec-4 tional view of Fig. 2.

In the construction of my improved picker I form a blank substantially in the shape shown in Fig. 1. The central part 1 is of substantially the relative size indicated by l the dotted lines and is adapted to form, when the blank is folded, the face of the picker. The parts marked 2 are adapted to form the sides and back of the picker, the inclined lines 3 forming a diagonal line 4 \,across the back of the picker. The two 85 straps 5 extending out from the parts 2 on opposite sides thereof areadaptedto extend down inside the sides 2 and across the inside of the face' 1, the straps being onehalf as wide as the 40 folded, they lie edge to edge. When folded the parts of the blank adjacent the dotted lines are adapted to be molded into and to form with the face a receptacle 6 adapted to receive the cushion filling 7 which is to be inserted and pressed into place before m -therawhide hardens. This securely fastens the straps in position and when the picker hardens and the picker stick 8 is inserted through the openmg 9 the picker is ready for use. The advantages of my improved picker are simplicity in construction, avoidance of all metallic fastenings, cheapncss and durability.
I claim: Y
1. A loom picker formed from a single blank having upturned sides and ends to form a cushion holding receptacle, straps laterally extending from theI sides and oppositely offset thereon and of reduced width relatively to said side, whereby said straps maybe bent to form a picker stick receiving opening'and inwardly across the bottom of said receptacle in opposite directions, and a cushion seated in said receptacle upon said straps.
2. A loom picker formed from a single blank -having a central face portion, side and end portions and straps extending out from said side portions adapted to be folded down the sidesand across the inside of the face ,portion and a filling adapted to serve as a cushion and retain said straps in position.
3. A loom picker blank havingr a central face portion, a border foldable to form with the face portion a cushion receptacle, portions laterally extending from said border A y adapted to form the back and sides of the picker and straps extending from said sides and back forming portions adapted to fold inside down and acro said face portion.
4. A loom picker blank having a central portion, a border portion surrounding said central portion, o positely extending side and backiportionshaving a portion of their ends reversely inclined and straps extending out beyond said .inclined ends.
5. A loom picker blank having a central portion, a border portion surrounding said central portion, oppositely extending sides and back portions having a portion of their ends reversely inclined and straps extending 95 ends, said straps and on opposite sides being of equal width of said blank.
