Extensionarodt 110 46 is passed through suitably alined apel'zs turns;Aia-iH QVerQO andvreress member-r16 and has its upper end equipped with a bearing a8 as clearly shown in Fig. l. Actuating lever 4L9 is pivotally connected at one end as at to a bearing 51 that is fixed to cross member 16 while it also has pivotal connection at an intermediate point as at 52 with bearing 48 above referred to. Consequently, by properly manipulating the free end of actuating lever 48, movement may be imparted to plunger head 45 and the operating of the ball valves accomplished. In otherwords, upon upward movement of plunger 45, ball valve 43 will become unseatcd so that water from con tainer 17 will be drawn into drum 31 while upon downward movement of the plunger, the valve 43 will move into a closed position, while the valve 38 will be unseated to permit the water in the drum 3l'to be forced outwardly through spout 36.
I also provide in conjunction with that structure above described, suitable heating apparatus designated in its entirety by the numeral 53, said heating apparatus including a. boiler 54. A conduit 55 connects boiler 54 with container 17 as shown in 1, while a tube 56 is connected with outlet spout 36 of drum 31 as at 5'? and passed a suitable aperture 58 in the side wall of the container and subsequently wound about the periphery of the container, as illustrated. A second conduit 59 connects boiler 54 with block 15, while a second tube 60 has one end portion passed through one hollow gudgeon "25 of the drum 14 and is connected with conduit 59 as at 61. This last mentioned tube is passed through an aperture-62 in drum 1a and may be subsequently wound about the drum in the usual manner. 7
ll furtherprovide a casing 63 that is connected with the pipe to be thawed 64; as at 65, one end of said casing receiving one end of tube 66 and carrying means as shown at 67 to retain the same in place, while an on tension 58 on the casing communicates with the end of tube 59 and carries means as shown at 66, whereby a tight connection mav be made. 7
The operation of my invention is substantially as follows The water from boiler 54 flows upwardly through pipes or conduits 55 to container 17 and upon proper manipulation of actuatins" lever 49, the water from container 17 will be forced through drum 31 as aforesaid to tube 56. From tube 56 the heated water is passed into the pipe to be thawed ea ers the pipe acted upon will be quickly and easily thawed by means of my improved apparatus and it will also be apparent that the said apparatus may be conveniently moved from place to place and operated with the greatest of ease. In view of the fact, therefore, that the advantages and novel features of my invention appear to be apparent from the foregoing, further detail description is deemed unnecessary.
in reducing my invention to practice, I find that the form referred to herein as the most practical and preferred embodiment is the most eliicient, but realizing that certain conditions will necessarily vary in concurrence with the adoption of my device, I desire to emphasize the fact that various minor changes in the details of construction and in'tiie proportion of parts may be resorted to when required without sacrificing any of the advantages ofrmy invention, as defined in the appended claims.
Having thus fully described my invention, 'whatl claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is i V 1. In a device as aforesaid; a body structure including a .rotatably mounted container, feeding means including a boiler, a conduit connecting said boiler and said container, conduit means having one end open tothe interior of said container and adapted to be wound thereon; an idler drum carried by said body structure, conduit means to be a boiler structure, conduits connecting said boiler structure and said drums, and other conduits in communication with said first mentioned conduits to be wound upon said drums. V
3. In a device as aforesaid; a carrying structure, a container movably mounted on said carrying structure, pump means operating in said containertheating means including a boiler structure, a conduit connecting said boiler and said container, other conduit means open at one end to the interior of said container to be wound on said container, an idler drum revolubly mounted on said carryingstructure,conduit means to be wound on said drums and having one end passed through one of the gudgeons thereof; and other conduit means connecting said boiler and one end of said last mentioned conduit means.
4:. in a device as aforesaid: a base, a stand arranged on said base. a fluid receptacle i'evolubly mounted on said stand and having a cover stationary with respect to said stand;
in combination with a tube to be wound on said container and having one end communieating with the interior thereof, and pump means associated with said container to force the contents thereof through said tube.
5. In a device as aforesaid; a base, a stand arranged on said base, a container revolubly mounted in said stand and having a cover fixed with respect to said stand; in combination with a tube to be Wound on said container and having one end open to the interior thereof, means to introduce fluid into said container, and means including a handle portion arranged exteriorly of said container to force the contents thereof through said tube.
6. In a device as aforesaid; a connecting joint to be attached to the pipe to be thawed, heating means including a boiler structure, and conduit means to convey the fluid from said boiler structure to said joint connection and return; in combination with means interposed between said heating structure and said joint connection to take up the slack in the conduit means and to instigate means including a boiler structure, conduit means connecting saidlboiler structure and said joint connection to convey the fluid to said joints and return the same to said boiler; in combination with a stand having a movable container through which the fluid passes, pump means associated with said container to instigate the flow of fluid, and an idler drum revolubly mounted on said carrying structure to take up the slack in certain of said conduit means. In testimony whereof I atfix my signature in presence of two witnesses. JOSEPH E. PHILIPPON. Witnesses:
