Referring now to these figures, my improved construction embodies a siphon, consisting of a relatively short upright leg or tube 10, and a relatively long inclined discharge tube 11, an upper horizontal connecting tube 12 connecting the tubes 10 and 11 adjacent their upper ends, it being noted that all three of the tubes are straight throughout, so as to render the cleaning of the siphon ready and effective and thus bring about a more sanitary condition at all times.
In use the upper end of the upright tube 10 is closed by `a stopper 13, and the outer end of the connecting tube 12 is likewise closed by a stopper 14, each of these stoppers being readily removable for cleaning purposes.

The stopper 14 may be in they nature of theusual cork, but stopper 13y is preferablyin the-natureof` a cap as seen particularly inrFig. 5, to fit over the upper end of tube y10with an internal washer 19, through which, and the upper end of the cap, the
stem extends. The cap 13 has a lower bayof net slot 20 to receive the connecting tube 12 and by means of which the cap is normally retained in the position shown in Fig. 2, and
adapted to be readily removed when it is so desired. v f
The'lowerr end of the intake tube 10 is vertically slotted at 22, the slots extending above the plunger 16 in the lowermost position of the latter, as seen in F ig. 1,y andthe lower extremity of the tube 10 is further provided with inwardly projecting lugs 23 forming a limit of lowering movement of the plunger.
Thus, when the tube 10 is introduced within the cream, and plunger 16 lowered to rest uponvtlie lugs 23, the cream finds its way into the upper portion of the slots 22 and outwardly into the tube 10 to the external level or height of the cream, so that when the plunger 16 is raised not only is a column of cream drawn upwardly following the plunger, but the cream already within the tube 10 is lifted in a column and forced into the tubes 11 and 12 so as to effectively produce siplion action without the necessity of a plunger in the discharge tube 11, as commonly used.
It is to be noted, furthermore, that the discharge tube 11 and connecting tube 12, are of the same cross sectional area, and that the disk or plunger 18 forming a handle for the i disk 18 therein after its removal with the stopper lfromthe tube 10;
