Toall whom t may concern i i Be it known that I, DAVID Nuseauivn acitizen of the United States, residing at Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented new and useful Improvements in Sectional Washboards, of which the following is a specication.

The present invention relates to improvements in the ,construction of wash-boards.

In carrying out my invention it is my purpose to construct `a wash-board wherein the same shall comprise a back or frame and a rubbing surface which may be so associated as to comprise a complete article and wherein the rubbing surface maybe easily and quickly removed when worn.

It is a further object of the invention to produce a wash-board of this class comprising two separable elements that may be associated in an easy manner to comprise a complete article and which may be readily disassociated when occasion requires.

It is a still further object of the invention to produce a wash-board comprising removable sections lso constructed `and arranged as'to be readily associated; wherein the said sections will be effectively sustained in their said associated condition and wherein the said sections may be easily disassembled when desired, andfurther to produce an article `of this character which shall be of a comparatively simple construction, cheap to manufacture, practicable and reliable.

With the above and other objects in view the improvement resides in the construction, combination and arrangement of parts set forth in the following specification and falling within the scope of the ap-pendedclaim.

As disclosed` by the accompanying drawing, the improvement includes a main body or back section 1 and a removable section 2.

Preferably the device is constructed of metal and the frame 1 has its sides integrally formed with tubular members 3-3, the inner edges of the same being rounded inwardly toward the outer rounded portions of the said tubes and terminating in beads t.

The back or frame l projects a suitable distance above the ledge 5 so that the same provides what may be termed a vertical flange 7, and the back` between the tubular edges 3--3 thereof is preferably in the nature of a skeleton frame, but the lower edge of the said back, to the rear of the tubular member 3, is formed with an angular flange 8.

The member 2 includes a rubbing surface 9, the outer'edge of which being provided with a lip 10 which is adapted to be received in the space provided by the flange 7 ofthe member 1, and the said member 2 also includes tubular sides or edges 11 that have their inner surfaces b'ent to provide ways 12 that are adapted to receive the beads 1 in the side elements 3 of the member 1. y

By reference to Fig. 5 of the drawings it v will be noted that the beads 4 when received leg members l3-13, the said legs being frictionally engaged by the side walls of the saidmembers 1l, as clearly disclosed by the drawings.

From the above description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, the simplicity of the device as well as the advantages thereof will, it is thought, be perfectly apparent to those skilled in the art to which such invention appertains without further detailed description.

Having thus described the invention, what I claim is:
