I HUG-H 0. BAY, 0F CENTRAL CITY, NEBRASKA.
WATER-HEATER.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Au. 21, 1917.
Application led October 16, 1916. Serial No. 126,004.
To all whom t may concern.'
Be it known that I, HUGH O. BAY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Central City, in the county of Merrick, State of Ne-v braska, have invented certain new` and useful Improvements in Water-Heaters; and'I do hereby declare the following to be a fullI clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
The present invention is directed to improvements in water heaters and has for its object to provide a device of this character which can be easily attached to a conventional form of oil cook stove.
A further object of the invention is to provide a device of this character including a tank so shaped that it can be readily engaged with a conventional form of oil stove, and when in place thereon willeffectively heat water.
A still further object of the invention is to provide a device 0f this character having means 'adapted to be associated with the burners of the stove so that the water will be heated.
With these and other objects in view, this invention resides in the novel features of construction, formation, combination and arrangement of parts to be hereinafter more fully described, claimed and Aillustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which Figure l is a front view of a stove equipped with the device.
Fig. 2 is a to-p plan view.
Fig. 3 is a sectional view on line 3-3 of Fig. l.
Fig. ,4 is a Sectional view on line 4 4 of Fig. 2.
Referring to the drawing l indicates the main tank, and 2 the auxiliary tank, the rear end of which communicates with the main tank. It will be noted that the tank2 is disposed at right angles to the tank l, so that the same can iit between the burners 3 of the stove 4. Connected to the bottom of the tank 1 are pipes 5, said pipes being connected to circular pipes 6 which are surrounded by the burners 3, and also connected to the circular pipes 6 and diametrically opposite the pipes 5 are pipes 7 which connect with the auxiliary tank 2.
The forward end of the tank 2 is provided with a faucet 8 so that heated water can be drawn from the device, when needed.
The top of the tank 1 is provided with an opening 9, which is normally closed by the cover 10, and it is through this opening that the tanks are filled.
Since the circular pipes 6 surround the burners 3 it is obvious that the heat therefrom will quickly heat the water in the tanks and cause the same to circulate.
Vhat is claimed is z- The combination with a stove having burners, of a water heater comprising a main tank, an auxiliary tank disposed at right angles to said main tank and adapted to engage between said burners, circular pipes surrounded by said burners, and other lpipes connecting said circular pipes and main tank and auxiliary tank, respectively.
In testimony whereof, I affix my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
HUGH O. BAY.
Witnesses:
S. J. MCCRACKEN, S. O. AYREs.
