FEED-BOILER AND WATER-HEATER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 430,673, dated June 24, 1890.
Application filed January 12, 1839. Serial No. 296,149. (No model.)
To otZZ whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, JOHN NAYLOR, a citizen of the United States, residing at Freeport, in the county of Stephenson and State. of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Feed-Boilers and IVater- Heaters; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
My invention consists of a novel construction of feed-boiler and water-heater, which will be fully understood by the following description and claim.
The accompanying drawing is a vertical section of my improved feed-boiler and Waterheater.
The feed-boiler D is provided with cover (1, having the valve d and handle (Z and insorted into the fire-chamber or air-space B above the grate C. This fire-chamber has a draft b and a discharge-flue B. Outside of the fire-chamber is a water vessel or heater A, provided with a heating-pipe E, which passes across the fire-chamber above the fire.
Having described my invention, what I claim is The above-described combination of a feedboiler D, surrounded by the fire-chamber B, having smoke-outlet B at the top thereof, with the water-heaterA surrounding the firechamber and smoke-passage, and the tube E above the fire-chamber, substantially as and for the purposes forth.
