To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, JEAN LUCIEN ABADIE, a citizen of the French Republic, residing at :Santa Barbara, State of California, United States of America, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Portable Serving-Tables; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

The present invention relates to a portable buifet table to be moreparticularly used in lunch rooms and the like which may be easily and readily transported around the room whereby thepatrons of the lunch room may have presented before them the various foods kept by the .lunch room so that they may readily pick from the bufi'et table the foods desired and presenting to the patrons .or guests a more appetizing display.

An object of the invention is to provide a buffet table adapted to carry all the necessaries of a restaurant which may be easily and readily transported. The invention also aims to produce a strong, durable and eflicient structure of this character which will be sanitary and inexpensive in the cost of manufacture thereby rendering the same commercially desirable.

With the above and other objects in view which will hereinafter appear as the description continues, the invention consists of the novel features of construction and the formation of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described and particularly pointed out in the appended claim.

In the accompanying drawings is shown the simple and preferred form of the invention it being, however, understood that no limitation is necessarily made to the precise structural details herein exhibited but the right is hereby reserved to any changes or alterations that may be had and come within the scope of the invention without departing from the spirit thereof or sacrificing the efficiency of the same.

Referring nowv more particularly to. the drawings wherein like and corresponding parts are designated by similar reference characters throughout the several views, this buffet. table forming the subject matter of the present invention comprises a main structure 1 mounted upon casters 2 so that it maybe easily and readily transported, andv detachably secured to the ends of the main section 1 are the ice chest section 3 and the fountain section 4. The main section comprises end walls 5 which are connected by the side walls 6. v and the side walls which are parallel with each other terminate adjacent the upper ends of the end walls and the end walls are arched at their upper end to form therebetween a heating section. Supported withv in thelower ends of the side walls is a drawer 7 which may be used for storing suitable linen for the tables of the lunchroom. Arranged above the linen drawer 7 are a pair of compartments8 in which may be stored hot water or any other suitable heating units for supplying heat to the lower portion of the cabinet. Arranged above the sections 8 are a plurality of shelves 9 which aredivided and supported by a partition 10 whereby pies, cakes and other pastry may be kept which are to be served in a heated condition. Arranged above the shelves 9 is a tank 11 in which is kept water and arranged within the tank is a removable drawer 12 in which may be kept a suitable heating unit for heatin the water contained within tank 11. This eatmg unit may be a wood or a coal fire or a stove being supplied with fuel consisting of gas, oils or electricity. The top wall of the tank 11 is provided with a plurality of openings in which are adapted to rest various jars 13 for retaining cooked foods and which are to be served in a heated condition.

Secured to the side walls 5 and within their arched portion are a plurality of brackets upon which are mounted shelves 14 and these shelves are for the purpose of supporting dishes orthe like culinary vessels which are to be heated before serving to the patrons of the lunch room. Secured to the inner wall of one of the partitions 5 opposite wall is arranged a sliding drawer 16 in which may be retained forks, spoons and the like for handling the foods contained within the culinary vessels 13. Pivotally mounted to the side walls 5 as at 17 are sectional doors 18 whereby the upper end of the cabinet may be closed and the heat retained in and around the vessels and foods contained ,therein. Extending across the top of the main section is a resting rod 19 upon which may rest the sectional covers 18 when the same are open. A handle 20 is also secured to one of the end walls 5 whereby the cabinet may be easily and readily transported around the room.

The fountain cabinet 4 has projecting from each side thereof brackets 21 which are adapted to engage lug projections carried by one of the end walls 5 and form a detachable connection between the fountain %abinet and the main cabinet of the device. he fountain cabinet 4 is provided with a door 22 whereby access may be gained to its interior in which may be kept coffee mugs, saucers, teapots and the like, and arranged upon the upper face of the fountain cabinet 4 is a tray 23 in which rests the coffee-urn 24.

The ice chest 3 is also detachably connected by means of the connections 25 to the main section 1 and comprises an upper compartment 26 in which ice may be stored. The lower part of the ice chest is provided with a door 27 whereby access to' the interior of the ice chest may be gained and arranged within the chest is a plurality of shelves 28 upon which may be kept butter, cold drinks, salads or other foods which are supposed to be served in a cold state.

Leading from the compartments 8 are pipes 29 having valves arranged therein so that the ,water contained within these compartments may be readily removed.- Drawers 30 are'also arranged within the lower portion of the main section 1 in which-may be stored a heating unit for heating the water contained within the compartments 8. Leading from the tray 23 is a pipe 31 having a faucet 32 arranged therein whereby any liquid that overflows within the tray 23 may be easily and readily drained'ofii. A pair of butler trays 33 whereby the carving of meats and the like may be accomplished is also arranged upon the top of the section 11 and the top 34 of the ice chest may be used for placing the extra silver to be served to the various tables within the dining-room.

Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:

A serving bufiet comprising a roller supported main section consisting of a pair of parallel side Walls and a frontand a rear wall, a plurality of compartments arranged within said walls, the upper ends of said side walls being arched, a top connecting the arched upper ends of said side walls, a pair of sectional covers for closing the upper end of said main section, a rod carried by said walls and extending over said top, each of the sectional covers being hingedly connected to said top at each side of said rod, and said sectional covers adapted to rest upon said rod for holding the same in open positions substantially as and for the purpose specified.
