IMPROVEMENT IN STREET=LAMPS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 123,516, dated February 6, 1872.
To all whomy it may concern.:
Be it known that we, WILLIAM G. SCHMID- LIN and Jnnnnmn W. DRrsooLL, of the cit-y and State ot' New York, have invented an linprove'ment in Street-Lamps; and the following is declared to be a correct description ot' the same.

The lamp is made ot' the two principal parts, the body and the removable conical top. At the top ot' the removable frame cf is the chimney or cap fm., that should be removable, as usual. lt will now be understood that the conical top and bottom portions ot' a number ot' lamps can be nested together and packed into a small compass, or the top part inverted into the bottom ina single lamp for transportation 5 and, when put together and secured, the lamp will be as reliable and available as those that are made ot' a frame that cannot be separated. To connect these parts we make use ot' vertical wires on one part, entering short tubes or loops on the other. The

By this construct-ion the reservoir is permanently connected in its place, and risk ot'injury and leakage prevented.
The conical bottoms, sometimes applied at the lower part of the lantern body, may also be removable and secured by wires the salue as the upper portion.
