- Application filed a 31, 1910. Serial No. 112,302.
To all whom it may concern: Be it known that I, J'unsonll. hdlBKIMEN, a, citizen of the -United States, residing at L .Glendive, in the county of Dawson and- -State of Montana, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Clothes- Lifters, of which the following, is a specification, reference bein g had therein to. the
This invention relates to improvements in -clothes lifters, one object of the invention being the provision of a clothes lifter, which isso constructed as to permit of the engage ment of the wet clothes without danger of tearing or damaging the same.
A further object of the invention is the provision of a safety clothes lifter, the
clothes engaging members of which are formed from wire, and provide a plurality of resilient loops anchored in a handle, so that the loops may be readily engaged with or released from the clothes without injuring the fabric.
A still further object of this invention is the provision of a safety clothes lifter which is sample, durable and cheap to manufacture, and which is thoroughly efficient and practical in use.
In the acco anying drawings Fi re 1 is a perspective view of one form of Hi. er.
Fi 2 is a cross section through the han- 1file s owing the method of anchoring the oops.
Referring to the drawings, and more particularly to Figs. 1 and 2 thereof, the nu- Spceification of Letters Eatent.
One of the loops is shorter than the others and is curved as at 16, thus providing a safety clothes lifter, by means of which the clothes may be manipulated without being torn.
It will he noted that the endsof the terminals 11 fit or abut against the inner end of the slot formed by the clamping ends 15 and that all of the respective terminals 11 are substantially parallel.
What I claim, as new, is v A. clothes lifter, comprising a stafl one end of which is provided with a transverse slot diametrically thereof, a plurality of strands of wire bent to form loops and having the terminals thereof disposed in paralthe terminals of the staff upon the terminals of the loops within the slot.
JUDSOhT HARLEY MISKIMENQ In testimony whereof I afiix my signature.
