To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, JAMES E. FROMAN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Evansville, in the county of Vanderburg, State of Indiana, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Cradles or Cribs; and I do hereby declare the following i to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

This invention relates to improvements in cradles and cribs for infants.

One object of the invention is to improve the construction of devices of this character so that they may be easily and conveniently moved from place to place.

Another object is to provide a device of this character which will be comfortable to the infant and by means of which a general bouncing motion can be produced in a simple and easy manner which is especially desirable at night.

Other objects and advantages will be apparent from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawing.

Referring particularly to the accompanying drawing, 10 represents'a horizontally disposed and longitudinall extending member, the forward end of w ich is turned up wardly as indicated at 11 where it is connected to a vertically dis osed crescentshaped frame member 12. he other end of the member 10 extends up a greater distance than the front end, as shown at 13, and is rovided with a cross member 14 serving as a handle: A pair of transverse axles 15 are secured respectively to the front and rear end portions of the member 10 and carry on their ends the wheels 16. A second shorter crescent-shaped member 17 is disposed above the first crescent-shaped member and has its ends secured to the first member as at- 18. The intermediate portions of the members 12 and 17 are spaced apart by the members 19. The upper ends of the member 12 are turned downwardly and inwardly where they are formed with a pair of openings for the reception of the upper ends of the coil springs 20. The lower ends of these springs are connected to a horizontally disposed, and approximately rectangular band 21, within which the basket 22 is inserted, the upper strip or band 23 of the basket resting on the upper edge of the band 21. While I have shown the basket in its proper position, it.

forms no constructive part of the device as herein presented, but may be included with the device when placed on the market or omitted, as seen fit.

Referring particularly to Figs. 5 and 6 there is shown a modified form of the device in which there are no front wheels, the front of the frame being supported by the arouate member 24: secured to the forward end of the member 10 and having the ends of the said member so arranged as to form feet. In this form, the device is moved by tilting rearwardly to raise the front portion and thus permit of the entire device being supported on the wheels 25. The device can then be pushed to any desired position.

Referring again to Figs. 1, 2, 3, and 4 in the rear, there is mounted a bracket 26, in which is disposed a transversely extending flexible strip 27, the ends being arranged for engagement with the treads of the rear wheels. An angle lever 28 is pivotally mounted in the bracket and is adapted to be moved by the foot to bow the intermediate portion of the strip and thus cause the ends thereof to move downwardly into frictional engagement with the wheels.
