Be 1t known that I, ROBERT P. CRAWFORD,

Pittsburgh, in the county of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Combined Go-Carts and Nursery-Chairs, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to a combined gocart and nursery chair andhas for an object to provide sulky frame with a detachable body or seat.

Another object of the invention is to provide a nursery chair or commode having means whereby it may be used as a high chair.

Still another object of the invention is to provide a combination chair and swingf W'ith the above and other objects in view, which will be more fully pointed out in the following specification, I have invented the device-illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure l is a side elevational view of my invention,

Like reference characters indicate like parts throughout the following specification and in the several views in the drawings, in'

which 1 indicates a baby sulky, which consists of a sulky chassis 2 and separable bddy 3, which is in the form of a nursery chair project beyond the arm supporting posts 13 and 14 and are bent down to form hooks 15 and 16 and the upper ends of braces 18 and 17 project beyond the back forming posts 19 and 20 and are turned down to form hooks 21 and 22. The described hooks are to receive the links 23,,24 25 and 26 on the which are connected to the swing ropes 31 and 32, by means of the links 33 and 3 1. .A triangular shaped fabric or leather guard 35 has its lower end 36 secured to the under part of the front edge 37 of the seat 7 at the center thereof and the other extremities 38 and 39 are provided with buckle straps 11 and 16 to be fastened around the posts 13 and 14 to prevent a child from falling out of the chair. The upper ends of said posts 19 and 20 are bent to form hooks 43 and 42 adapted to hook over the back 14 of an ordinary dining room chair whereby a high chair is provided. A U-shaped member 46, has its parallel arms 17 and 18 slidable through eyes 49 on the upper ends of the legs'lo, said arms having their ends formed into hooks 50, which engage the racks 51 under the rear of the seat 7, whereby the U-shaped member may be adjusted to bear against the back 41 of said dining room chair and hold the chair 3 level, the bight 52 of said U-shaped member being covered with rubber tubing 53 which engages the dining room chair to prevent abrasion thereof.

The chassis 2 consists of a frame 54 upon which an axle 55 is mounted and on which the sulky Wheels 56 and 57 are mounted. A chair support 58 has its forward ends 60 and 59 pivotally mounted on the frame members 61 and 62 and the rear end of this.

support is held resiliently suspended by means of springs 63 and 64 seated upon the cars 65 and 66 projecting inwardly from the members 61 and 62, said springs being held in place by rods 67 and 68 which are slidable through openings 69 and 70 provided for them in the members 60 and 59. The free ends of said members 59 and 60 are bent up and then out to form bearings 71 and 72 which slip into the openings in brackets 7 1 and 73 on the legs 9 whereby the forward part of the chair is held to the chassis. A swivel lock 75 fixed to the under surfaceof the rear part of the seat 7 slips through the opening 76 in the rear bar 77 of theimember 58 secures the rear part of the chair to the chassis. A curb wheel frame 85 formed of members 78, 79 and80 is provided, the arms 78 and 79 being pivotally mounted upon the axle 55 and held spread apart by springs 81 and 82 fixed on said axle. The ends 83 and 84 of said arms are bent outwardly at right angles to engage the frame members 61 and 62 to hold said frame 85 rigid when the sulky is being raised upon a curb. The springs 81 and 82 have their outer ends fixed to the arms 78 and 79 whereby the frame 85 is held normally in a raised position to project above a curb. The ends 83 and 84 may be pressed toward one another against the tension of the springs 81 and 82 whereby the frame 85 may be swung inwardly and the axle 80 sprung under the resilient hook 86. Curb wheels 87' and 88 are mounted upon the axle 80 whereby the sulky may be conveniently raised over a curb in the usual manner. Legs 87 and 88 are provided on the forward end of the chassis. Brackets 81) and 90 on the forward bar 91 of the frame 54 form bearings for the pivoted handle 92, also for the kick off 93 pressed by the spring 94, said kick off having an opening 95 through which the end of the handle may project to hold said handle rigid.

From the above description, it will be seen that my device may readily be used as a sulky, commode, swing, high chair and ordinary childs chair and as it is of very simple construction, can be manufactured cheaply and sold at a reasonable price.

aving now described my invention, that which I claim to be new and desire to procure by Letters Patent is:

1. The combination with a wheeled frame having a spring support including a horizontal arm, of a chair resting upon and having'a reciprocatory latch member en'- gaging said arm of the support, said chair having also detachable hooked engagement with said frame.

2. The combination with. a wheeled frame having at one end thereof upwardly extending spring supports provided with an upper transverse arm connecting the same, said frame having at its other end a hook, of a chair resting upon and having a re ciprocatory latch member engaging said arm, said chair having detachable slidable engagement with said hook.

'3. The combination with a wheeled frame having at one end a spring support and at the opposite end thereof a hook, of a chair having engagement with said hook and resting upon and having a reciprocatory latch member engaging said support.

4. The combination with a wheeled frame having at one end a hook and at the other end a spring support, the latter including a horizontal arm, of a chair having detachable slidable engagement with said hook and a re'ciprocatory latch member engaging said arm of the support.
