SPECIFICATION.
Specification describing certain Improvements in Pipe-Tongs, invented by WILLIAM H. DOWNING, of Shainburg, in the county of Venango and State of Pennsylvania.
My invention consists of the combination of a detachable lever with the pipe-tongs in coin- Inon use, so arranged that two persons standing upon opposite sides ofthe pipe may apply their strength at the saine time, securing more power and greater rapidity and obviating the necessity of frequently renewing the gripe on the pipe.
The drawing represents` a pair of pipe-tongs embodying` my invention.
