Having thus described my invention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is 1. A garbage can comprising a body portion having a plurality of ears carried by t e'upper edge thereof, a cover, a plate carthe plate bent downwardly from the cover ried by the under side thereof, the edge of aving a plurality of inwardly extending portions parallel with the plate forming flanges, the said flanges adapted to inter lock with the ears carried by the can body portion.
2. A garbage can comprising a body portion having a plurality of outwardly extending and downwardly inclined ears carried by the upper edge thereof, a cover, a plate carried by the cover, the edge of the plate bent downwardly from the cover and having a plurality of inwardly extending portions parallel with the plate forming flanges spaced apart from the plate, the the cover and having a plurality of in- 5 said flanges-t adapted to interlock with the wardly extendinig portions parallel with the ears on the can body and frictionally hold plate forming anges spaced a art from them between the said flanges and the the plate, the said flanges adapte to inter- 5 downwardl bent edges of the plate. lock with the ears on the cam body and 3. A gar age'can tcomprismg a body porfrictionally hold them between the said 20 tion having a plurality of outwardly exflanges and the downwardly bent edges of tending and downwardly Inclined ears carthe plate. a ried byrtheupper edge thereof, a cover of In testimony whereof I hereunto afiix my P10 a; greater diameter than the can and havin signature in the presence of two witnesses. a ependingflange surrounding the top 0 LAURA M.
