To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ANDREW lilAnx, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Mount Pleasant, in the county of Sanpete and State of Utah, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in VVheel-Runners for Wagons, Buggies, and Automobiles, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.
This invention relates to a wheel runner for wagons, buggies, and automobiles, and has for its principal object the production of a device which will take the place of the ordinary wheels on vehicles, thereby changing the vehicle into a sleigh.
Another object of this invention is the production of a simple and efficient bracing rod for wheel runners.
A still further object of this invention is the production of a felly for wheel runners which is efliciently guarded from the snow and ice.
WVith these and other objects in view this invention consists of certain novel combina tions, constructions, and arrangements of parts as will be hereinafter fully described and claimed.

By referring to the drawings by numerals it will be seen that 1 designates the hub of the device, which is provided with a plurality of openings for receiving the spokes 2. The felly 3 of the device is adapted to receive the other ends of the spokes 2. The felly 3 is provided with a runner 4 upon its bottom face.
The plates 5 are held upon the side faces of the felly 3 by means of the rivets 6. These plates are situated so that their outer face will be flush with the edges of the runner it so that the felly 3 will be efficiently Specification of Letters Patent.

protected from any moisture coming from the ice and snow. This runner 4 is held upon the felly 3 by means of the bolts 7. This runner l extends over the hub 1 of the device and meets itself at the upper end of the felly 3.
This portion which extends over the hub forms the brace 9 which is held at the lower end by means of the rivets 10. It will be seen by referring especially to Fig. 3 that this brace is provided with an aperture adapted to register with the hub 1, which aperture is threaded so as to receive the set screw, 8. It will be very clearly seen that by this arrangement and construction that when the set screw is screwed down upon the hub l the brace 9 will be resting off of the hub, which will not only cause the runner to be tightened but will also tighten both the spokes 2 and felly It will also be noted by referring to Fig. 3 that this brace -9 fits into a ridge which is formed upon the outer periphery of the hub, whereby the same is prevented from being knocked off of the same.
It will be seen by referring to Fig. 1 that the felly is provided with the curved upper end, so that in backing the vehicle there will be no tendency of the runner digging into the snow or ice. At the outer end of both forms of the felly is provided the member 11 which is adapted to be held by the felly and also to receive the chain 12, which chain is pro vided with the hook 13. The hook 13 is adapted to be attached to the body of the vehicle, whereby any rotating of the device is obviated.
From the above description it will be seen that a "ery simple and efficient wheel runner has been produced which is provided with bracing means and also with means for preventing the digging up of snow and ice by the felly 3. It will also be seen that means have been provided upon the upper end of the felly for preventing the device from rotating upon the axle. A very special feature of this device is in the production of a means whereby the runner may be tightened by means of the set screw as clearly described above.
